As you probably noticed it's a question for guys.
When you like a girl, and find her pretty, want to get to know her better, what is the thing?
Is it truly about the looks? And what is it about the looks? Or is it something about the way she carries, and presents herself as well?
How do you feel when you start crushing?
Just a really interesting thread I think, to see what your type of girl is, and what you feel like when you like someone.

I've been in love with a girl for the past three years and when I see her I feel elated yet when she leaves I feel empty inside but when I'm near her I can hardly speak as if I'm choking also I think she is the most beautiful person in the world but other people say she's not attractive so I would say love is not always about looks that is all

when I find a girl attractive and I don't know her its mainly on how she "carries" herself. but when I know the girl it is about her personality and things like that, or if she and I have a lot of things in common and when ever we talk we connect or can talk about anything and make something boring fun

I've crushed on like four girls before. The first one I got to know in primary school and she just allured me because she never once spoke, she was so shy she just didn't speak. It created a mysterious thing about her and it was my happiest day when she whispered to me. I later went out with her for a while in secondary school and I was so in love with her, sounds stupid considering how young I was but love is love. We broke up eventually because I wanted to become more popular (once again, young and stupid). Then I had a crush on a friend of mine's and this carried on for like a year but I got over it and then went out with quite a few people. But although this crush went away it came back a little bit this year like three years later. I did some sexual things with her when I was drunk and yeah it kind of came back a bit but it went as quick as it came.
What I really like in girls or anyone, is the chase it takes to get them.

Teeth/smile and laugh is a big thing for me. The first thing I notice about anyone is their teeth. Secondly is hair. If a girl has gross hair then I'm gone.
When I get to know them I like to see if they can take a joke etc, that's what I like.

If I'm attracted to someone it's not only the looks but more the way that they actually are and act. They may smoke yet may have the warmest heart which makes them attractive (even if they smoke) or the my could have a certain style about them. I tend to only be attracted to girls which are physically attractive if they're Emo or Gothic, mainly cause I'm an Emo myself and for what it really means (that we like emotional hardcore music) they tend to have quite an emotional and warming side to them - who said emotions have to be bad? I like them mainly because they'll show that they're romantically connected with you and their emotions show that, whether it's the type of song they want you to listen to (or they may be listening to) or through other means. But what makes a girl attractive is the way she acts around you, if it's something different to the way she acts around everyone else (and is still kind of nice) then it means something, probably that she thinks the same of you.

So, it is about the looks for you. You just stick with Emo and Goth girls, don't you?
I am personally a metal chick. I listen to heavy metal, trash, even death. I dated a metal guy in the past for a long time, and I have lots of metal friends. I got attracted to plenty, because they're extremely sweet and I trust them. (And they play guitar and listen to the music I love! :) ) . I would never get stuck with metal guys though, I can be interested in any type really, even the unshaved homeless one if he has the character :P
So you DO care about the looks a lot. I care about looks too, but it's not a major thing for me. It's the first step of attraction I think, but I don't have to like the whole. Sometimes, I'm attracted to the eyes or hair. Or just some features such as sense of humour.
See... :D

Haha! You stole my thunder! :P
Every time I see an attractive girl that I'd like to talk to, I usually can't because I'm doing something. Like with my family or whatever. I'm not very good at just walking up to girls. They almost always have to say something first. Which usually never a happens. :|

Somehow I have a bad habit of flirting without intending to...

Well, I'd like to be with a girl I find attractive, obviously, but if she's a total bitch, then that's a dealbreaker. I wouldn't even approach a good looking girl if she appeared to be rude/a bitch.
A bit of both looks, and a nice personality is ideal.

Why don't you say it out loud? That's how man should communicate with women! :P Just "nice ass out there" is perfect x)

Doing something like that actually makes you look immature and disrespectful. Most women don't appreciate shit like that, nor like that kind of attention.
Yeah, I get those thoughts as well, just like any other person does, but to actually make that comment doesn't really make you look good.
It would be different if it was your girlfriend.

You are right that it is taken in a bad way for some women, some would completely stop talking to you, kick or slap you. That happens.
But most of them would accept that, it's still a compliment, no matter how you say it! And that's not immature to them, that would be funny. I can assure you that 3/4 of my female friends agree with that, and guys do as well!

Not really, because being in a certain 'style category' doesn't mean you have to look like it. Because I'm Emo, I'm actually blonde, longish hair, own one pair of converse but often look quite smart. It's not the looks that make me that way, but my character and personality. Yes goths and emos do look good, it's not nessicarily why I'm attracted to then. I prefer their personality, and often you can tell that by the way they act.

Finding a girl attractive due to her looks is juz one part of liking the girl, ultimately it's her personality which keeps a guy liking her IMO

So true.I think it's best not to say stuff like that aloud. If you are going to compliment a girl on her body under those circumstances go with something more sweet and flirty like eyes or hair or smile over more sexual things like butt or boobs or legs.Personally I don't like to be noticed for say,my boobs or butt(actually I'd rather not be noticed at all).Compliments on less "sexy" body parts are more respectful.

I have as very unhealthy reaction to crushing.
I get anxious, stressed. I isolate myself, and get depressed. I feel like I could make a bad decision impulsively. I usually spend a few days crying it out.
But the episode could last weeks.
I also happen to develop crushes on people that I have less than 0% chance with.
I fall hard. Every thought would be about them. Wanting to be with them so much would drive me insane. It hurts like hell. I see them as a single perfect person that can save me from the society of pain.
But I can't. It's wrong. It wouldn't work, or it's not right, or they like someone else. Something, anything gets in the way.
And then i just break. I think I understand why they call it a crush.

That's really smart of you. Can you explain me what an Emo personality is like? I can't really see apart from listening to bands like Asking Alexandria, or Black Veil Brides, and dressing up like a scene kid. I know one Emo Person, and she's more of a goth then Emo really.

I think that you should stay more confident, I am sure that you have chances, you just don't trust yourself.
Why do you say that you're not worthy them? That's the silliest thing I ever heard! You should NEVER say that!

Emos tend to be quite quiet about themselves I find, then as you grow on them tbey show how independent they are but sometimes how they need you to support them. Music is important and you find emos are often inspired by the music they listen to, for instance In The End by BVB is all about how you have to fight for what you want and believe in in this world, basically though, every one is somewhat different, but it's the quietness which fiesta attracts you. They are cute as well

Well you explained it pretty well. But why are they making their life so depressive? Why are they listening to strange music that does not help them. You might think that listening to BVB helps you, but I think that it's the opposite. Anyway, I'm not judging you or anyone else. I just feel like why would you deliberately choose a hardest path, and suffer more from your daily live and music?

The title and what the posts are kinda threw me off..
So if i'm crushing, falling for a girl, first its of her features, that smile, those eyes that will sparkle when i'm looking at them. And then when i get to know her, of course, her personality, it shows, and i noticed its a HUGE turn off for me if i see her being rude, disrespectful, talks in a weird diva-ish way, many come to part in this. I don't ever fall for one for having a nice "ass" or "boobs", but body, sure.
Ive been crushing on someone recently and well... she is one of the sweetest people I've ever met ( not yet officially met ), she has an amazing smile, one that will change your mood anytime of the day! and has those amazing blue, greenish eyes. I wish i had complimented her about those but she went ahead and complimented me instead .. xD now i don't know how to start a conversation lol.

I'm just not an attractive person, and I'm pretty stubborn and annoying sometimes. I don't think anyone should have to put up with me sometimes.

I think I really wanna get to know her because I would possibly wanna date her. But mainly get to know her because personality is a must before looks, even though looks do matter since I know I personally wanna date someone I'm attractive to, everyone does even though many people say they don't. But I never end up doing it since they always have a bf or I have no chance at all meeting this girl.

I'd kinda say its this aura about them, like a mixture of their looks, the way they present their selves and my first impressions of them
