I don't think it's the end of the world if you're giving positive rep. Could be bad if you're giving negative rep.

on the link list at the top, click 'User CP' then 'User Control Panel' scroll down and you will be able to see the recent rep points you have earned, and meybe lost, which forum and it shows the comment they had left, if there is one

If you want to know who has given you rep then click on user control panel. Then on the first yellow line you click that and you can see who has given you rep and how many point you have
