Any of you enjoyed those movies? I find them to be extremely underrated. The first film is actually excellent, I'm more and more amazed by it every times I see it.

I'm not a huge fan of the films, but I think they have a great atmosphere and some parts simply look and feel amazing. I definetly prefer the PS game series though.

The whole context addressing religion and Satanism is something I find especially thrilling, it was done in an impeccable way.
It also happens to be the video game adaptation that is the most faithful to the games it's based on. The way they did set up the whole story into a movie is impressive, I really don't think they left off elements from the games.
People are always complaining about bad acting in horror films but the cast in both movies is totally great.
The special effects and atmosphere are such a dazzling interpretation of the games put on screen in an inventive and unique way.
Some critics complained about the story not making any sense but where they see no sense in it, on the contrary, I find this tale of a Satanic cult and living nightmare to really fit altogether.
People and critics also complained about the films not being scary but SH is about creepiness and atmosphere. Notice I must admit they did try some jump scares in the second film which were a failure.
Still, one of my favorite horror movie series.
