View Full Version : Really annoying hip injury

So I know this is something most people won't have an answer from or be able to help with but I figure it's worth a shot. Last year I developed pretty serious case of dancer's hip, also known as snapping hip syndrome, which was caused by my I-band being super tight. Lately I've been in a ton of pain, it hasn't been snapping but I'm like always miserable because if I move slightly the wrong way it kills me or it'll just randomly give out on me. I've tried rolling it out and using icy hot and ibuprofen, but I'm still in a ton of pain radiating from my hip down to my knees, it's a both side issue on and off. Any ideas on what to do? Like it's mildly bearable but I'm hoping to go back to living my life

Have you thought about going to PT? I have to do that for my knee right now, and it seems to be helping somewhat.

I went when I first injured it last yew AR but my parents aren't always great with getting me where I need to go, but once the pain subsides I'll do some of the strengthening stuff I can

something like that you almost need more professional advice after they can pinpoint the problem. see if your school has an athletic trainer (which they should if you have sports teams) maybe they will be able to give you some free advice

I injured my hip really bad last year, PT and time off from sports really helped me.
