Maybe it's just the immaturity of my dad, but I often feel like *I* am my parents parent. My dad almost never talks to her on the phone or e-mail unless it's important or an emergency. I am the middle ground for communication between them when trying to figure out plans my mom may have for us. It's clear that he doesn't like her, yet my mom has moved on. So I just have a few questions for you....

How long have your parents been divorced?
Would you say they have "moved on" past the incident?
If yes..... is it because they have found new partners?
If no.... do you feel like you have to be the middle man for them?
Do they communicate regularly?
Who do you regularly live with? (or is it 50/50)

My answers:
How long have your parents been divorced? 2 years.
Would you say they have "moved on" past the incident? Mom yes, dad no.
If yes..... is it because they have found new partners? My mom has a fiance but my dad is still single.
If no.... do you feel like you have to be the middle man for them? Yes and it pisses me off
Do they communicate regularly? Not really, but my dad does a decent job at hiding his hate for my mom when he DOES talk to her
Who do you regularly live with? (or is it 50/50) I live with my dad but I see my mom usually at least once a week.

How long have your parents been divorced? Nine years, give or take a few months.
Would you say they have "moved on" past the incident? Up until recently, they were perfectly civil and friendly with each other.
If yes..... is it because they have found new partners? My father went on a few casual dates, and my mother had a boyfriend or two, but nothing beyond that.
If no.... do you feel like you have to be the middle man for them? I've always somewhat felt like the middleman, but as of late, I've felt like it more so than ever.
Do they communicate regularly? Not anymore.
Who do you regularly live with? Custody agreement said I was supposed to spend 9 days with my mother and then 5 with my father, but I didn't like that, so I alternated every week for a while. Now that I'm older, moving every week is a pain in the ass, and right now staying with my father is more convenient for school, so I'm with him.

How long have your parents been divorced?
Urm, 9 years? Maybe 10?
Would you say they have "moved on" past the incident?
There wasn't so much as an 'incident' in their relationship, they were both really unhappy and it was a mutual decision to break up but they're both still nosey about the others relationship status', especially my mum. So in some ways I guess you could say no but for the most part they're both dating and shit.
If yes..... is it because they have found new partners?
My dad has always kind of been passed it, he had partners really early on. About 7 serious ones that he's properly introduced as his girlfriend and then some randomers. My mum has had 2 serious relationships, both which have ended badly because of the guy so she's still pretty insecure which probably sends her back to being interested in my dads relationships and stops her from wanting to find someone new.
If no.... do you feel like you have to be the middle man for them?
They both might have 'moved on' but dear fuck have I always been the middle man. 8 year old me having to pass on messages because they didn't have the patience to speak to each other themselves. Yeah it sucks, especially being the eldest. I don't need to hear "tell your father he needs to pay me £200 for last month" stop being childish and tell him yourself
Do they communicate regularly?
In one way, yes because they have to with mine and my sisters constant moving houses plus they literally split everything (money-wise) involving us down the middle. No because they do stuff like refuse to let each other in the house, don't call or talk to each other in person, only email when they have to. They literally are belligerent children, it's pathetic.
