1: What is the one band/artist that you would have loved to see while they were still performing/alive?

ANBERLIN *SOBS PROFUSELY* Son of a motherfucker, I am STILL upset about that.

The other is obviously The Beatles. Ofc

2: If you had to create the
ultimate dream band by
picking your favorite drummer, bassist, guitarist, and singer etc, who would be in it?

That's too tough

3: A song that you are very
embarrassed that you like?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ I don't really have any. Like, if you think I'm lame for not being a sheeple and cowering to conformity, and liking what the fuck I wanna like, that's fucking your problem, not mine.

4: Who is the one person that
you have connected musically with more than anyone else?
What music do you have in
common?

Ehhh you know, between this girl I was best friends with/used to have a crush on, and Mr. Tyler, AKA Hollywood. :P

BF: The Beatles, Panic! At The Disco, Weezer, etc.
Tyler: Toro Y Moi, Chromeo, Genesis, etc.

5: Is there a song that you love the lyrics but just hate the melody/ vise versa?

Wrecking Ball- Miley Cyrus. I appreciate the lyrics, but the melody just falls flat for me.

6: Whether you are a fan of
them or not, who do you think is going to become insanely successful in the next few years?

I have no fucking clue. Chromeo seems like it could catch on somewhat though, seeing as Solange has already sang on their album, etc.

7: Favorite one hit wonder?

DON'T MAKE ME CHOOSE :P

8: The most overrated song
you've ever heard?

Wrecking Ball maybe idk

9: The most underrated song
you've ever heard?

LOL Like I can choose just one

10: Do you have any music in
common with your parents?

Quite a bit, yeah

11: What artist/band do you
find talented but do not like
their style of music?

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

12: What is more important,
melody or lyrics?

No.

Music is a form of expression, and expression does not always have to be technical, or serious. It also is a form of entertainment; see the above.

If the artist likes it, or the audience likes it, that's what's important.

I hate nothing more than pretentious music lovers who think that if you love a song that isn't _______, you're an idiot/wrong, etc.

This coming from someone who listens to music as a hobby.

I don't just plop my headphones in, I dissect that shit. I've even thought about categorizing songs and making something similar to the music genome project, but in my own perspective.

13: The saddest song you've
ever heard?

There are so many

14: If you had to get a tattoo of lyrics, what would they be?

No idea on this one, tbh

15: The best memory that
comes with a song you have?

I have so many!

16: What are your 5 favourite songs right now?

All time:

1. Between the Bars- Elliot Smith
2. Something- The Beatles
3. The Rain- Calvin Harris
4. Banquet- Bloc Party
5. Let Go- Frou Frou

Of the moment:

1. Talons- Bloc Party
2. Trojan Horse- Bloc Party
3. Pop It- Anamanaguchi
4. Cali Get Down- Radical Something
5. Witness- Mindless Self Indulgence

17: What song do you listen to everyday?

It varies.

1: What is the one band/artist that you would have loved to see while they were still performing/alive?

Chuck Schuldiner playing for Death. RIP, man.

2: If you had to create the ultimate dream band by picking your favorite drummer, bassist, guitarist, and singer etc, who would be in it?

I can't easily discard the human factor in artists. While I'd love to see Jens Carlsson (vocalist) play with Brann Dailor (drummer), Robin Zielhorst (bassist), and Angel Vivaldi (solo guitar), music is all about being a team and working together. They all do have a progressive background though.

3: A song that you are very embarrassed that you like?

[-]Darude - Sandstorm[/-]
I don't think we should feel ashamed for being ourselves, especially in music.
I do like Allen-Lande and Mudvayne :P

4: Who is the one person that you have connected musically with more than anyone else? What music do you have in common?

It's gotta be one of my best friends Matheus, who was also my first friend in Brazil. Somehow, we both started liking metal together (he previously liked rock and I nothing), and we'd spend loads of time together just chilling and listening to new bands. Because we live in the same apartment building, we were in contact a lot of the time, so bands we just found out about were quickly passed to one another. We listened to almost the same stuff, at the start, and even when we started to diverge (he liking thrash/punk vs my speed/power) we always had that common ground and were very open to each other's suggestions. We even had this idea to make a review channel/podcast/whatever about metal. For three years I also gave him a mixtape every christmas (we're both poor blokes).

As for music we have in common...

Heavy Metal, Thrash Metal, Progressive Metal, Post-rock, and Death Metal, mostly.
We differ in Sludge/Stoner/Instrumental/Post-Metal/Melodeath (I) vs Progressive Rock/Rock/Brazilian Rock/Flowery power Metal (Him)

5: Is there a song that you love the lyrics but just hate the melody/vise versa?

Jeez, I don't know. If I hated the melody I wouldn't care for the lyrics, but not vice versa. I'd say that there are some christian metal bands that have a nice sound but I disagree with their lyrics. But nothing I actually hate.

6: Whether you are a fan of them or not, who do you think is going to become insanely successful in the next few years?

I'm not in tune with the mainstream charts enough to say anything, sorry

7: Favorite one hit wonder?

Welp, this is definitely aimed at the pop-ier audience. But because I this song hilarious, why not? :lol3:

Also this (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YTcYqLKfuac).

8: The most overrated song you've ever heard?

Gangnam Style has 2B views, so it takes the cake.

9: The most underrated song you've ever heard?

I dunno, I listen to a non-mainstream genre anyways.

10: Do you have any music in common with your parents?

Nope. My mother prefers silence and my dad likes dark ambient.

11: What artist/band do you find talented but do not like their style of music?

Pretty much any classical writers. I just don't have the patience for it.

12: What is more important, melody or lyrics?

It is music we're talking about, not poetry. Plus, instrumental music is great and it hasn't any lyrics.

13: The saddest song you've ever heard?

[-]Nothing comes to mind, really.[/-]

I don't pay much attention to sad songs, but this one struck me when I was reading about some suicide note.

Earth - From The Zodiacal Light (www.youtube.com/watch?v=71nROr1yLgI)

14: If you had to get a tattoo of lyrics, what would they be?

I wouldn't, I won't have any text tattoos in my life.
Also, I'm not a person that influenced by lyrics. They're a nice accompaniment, some tell great stories, but I don't take it on a personal level.

15: The best memory that comes with a song you have?

I usually do the best stuff (exploring/friendships) in silence, and my previous relationship wasn't the best... So here's a weak answer: doing the Brazilizn version of the SATs (ENEM) with Black Soul Horde in my mind.

16: What are your 5 favourite songs right now?

Eh.

17: What song do you listen to everyday?

I honestly doubt I could do that for a whole week. No.
