Period question

So I'm 14 and haven't gotten my first period yet. I've had discharge for 2 years and all the signs- pubic hair, boobs, cramps, cravings, mood swings etc.

What is the difference between getting your first period and spotting/brown discharge. What if I get spotting and think it's my first period?

I think most doctors say only go to your doctor if you're a few months from your 16th birthday and still have not had a period. Sometimes the time between starting to get discharge and breast growth and first period can be up to 2 years so give it a few more months and if not speak to your mom about it or see a doctor.

I wouldn't be worried, I was like that too. I got mine just before I turned 14.

Honestly, it's different for every girl, and you may only spot/have light periods in the beginning.

I wouldn't worry about it too much until you're 16 or so though.

Worrying about it doesn't help bringing it on. I got mine when I was 13 but I spent ages worrying about it thereafter and I missed the next two due to stress the doctor said. Let your body develop itself and I'm sure everything will fall in place eventually x
