Well I'm in my final year of school :D And I've just written my mock exams about 2 weeks ago and now I'm 2 weeks out from my final exams! :S

The only problem is that I can't seem to get myself into a study mode. Every time I try, I manage to work for about half an hour (very distractedly) before I succumb to some other 'more interesting' task or form of procrastination. I'm usually pretty good with studying, but since my mocks I just haven't been able to get back into that zone, I really need to get out of this holiday mode I've got myself stuck in, but I just don't have any idea how to do that now.

I guess I was just wondering if anyone had any ideas or tips on how to motivate myself to work? Anything that's worked for you with studying?
Thank you! :)

What I usually do is get some flash cards or just tear some pieces of notebook paper out, write down important study notes and terms and words, then you can play like a matching game with them. Write study terms or definitions of stuff and see if you guess what the card is talking about, or match it to the meaning. With the internet you can study pretty easily and get more information for yourself. Try to find someone in the class to study with and you guys can help each other out. Good luck. :)

Get some ambient noise (birds, etc.) or non-distracting music going if that helps you. Try to use creative forms of note taking to change things up every now and then, and give yourself breaks. (Drink water, and eat healthy snacks. A healthy body is a happy body that wont distract your studies- plus, dehydration can actually make it hard to focus. :P)

Hope that helped somewhat.

Thank you both for you ideas! :) I'm going to try them all out and see if I can find something that works for me - especially drinking more water since I'm super bad with that :S The matching idea sounds like a pretty neat way of studying too - different to what I've done, so I'm excited to try it! :P

I usually tidy and set out my desk - with what I need. You can maybes make a list of the study subjects. Put markers in books at pages you want etc. It helps me just het in the zone - But take regular breaks or even mini breaks get up walk around etc.

Or just imagine yourself as the only failure - yikes!!

Before I begin to study, I make sure everything is around me, books, pens, water, everything, so I don't get distracted. I then logged my self out of Facebook, put my earphones in so I couldn't hear anything and semi-closed my laptop screen. THat works for me, but idk if itl'l work for you.

Remove distraction from your work space.
Whenever you feel in a working mood, stop whatever you're doing and study.
Get yourself in a working mood before you start studying. If you're having trouble try taking a day off studying to re-energize ur soul and then study the day after the break.

I bribe myself to study by saying I will study this long and then do something I like later. Of course, this takes a lot of self control...

I'm sort of the same way. Can't get myself to work on school stuff for very long. It's boring. I get distracted. Don't really know what to do.

You could try working with some other people in your class. That way you could help each other to stay on task. Be careful you don't end up distracting each other though-make sure you work with people who will help instead of making the problem worse.

Try to put only the subject you are revising in front of you.
And your mobile phone, laptop, games, music away from you(like in a drawer or something).
Then set a goal where you'll need to reach for a hour.

you need to set the right mood (with music, make sure the room isn't too hot or cold) lock the door so you're not disturbed. Then picture what you're trying to accomplish. Then set regular breaks at certain times, for example, work for an hour take a 5 minute break until you reach your goal.

usually, I do some schedule on what time should I study. if I am already bored from studying, , i do things that I really want to do but on a limited time only. after that, I continue to study while eating to keep my mind awake .
