What HAVE You Identified As?

I don't know about all of you, but in the quest to find out what my sexual orientation truly was, I misidentified myself as many other things along the way. At first, I thought I was simply asexual, but once the hormones kicked in, I thought I was bi because I "liked the way girls smell" (please don't misconstrue that phrase). Once I figured out that I was attracted to males and only males, I identified myself as gay.

My question: What have you misidentified yourself as, in the process of coming out to yourself?

I misidentified myself as bisexual, but I'm gay.

Bisexual, but only for a few weeks while I was still trying to understand it was actually possible for a girl to be gay :p I was young, about 11 I think.

Straight. I knew I wasn't gay of bi, since I wasn't attracted to guys, but until recently I never really though much about the fact that I'm not attracted to girls either. Once I heard about asexuality, though, I knew fairly quickly that it was the best way to describe myself.

Mostly, something that consists of a shrug and/or some accompanying noncommittal sound or gesture. I dismissed my sexuality as straight for a while simply because I never bothered to care or explore it. As soon as I did, I decided not to use a label and it's been that way since. If anything, the appropriate label would be "queer" but I've never tried to settle on just one or two words to define me.

I did, and still continue to identify myself as Gay/Bisexual. I like everyone, even though I have the most attraction to guys. I like girls, transgendered people, and sometimes you have to label yourself when you don't want to. That's how life is.

I've gone through Straight, Pan, Bi, Gay, probably one or two of the minor ones as well. Right now I stick with Gay and it works for me :3

It had been more of a protracted tussle but before i identified myself as bisexual i never really identified with any other label though I used to wish I was straight.

i'm not really sure what my sexual orientation is, i'm only 15 and i feel like a lot of what i'm feeling could simply be hormones and such (even if it has been going on since i was like 7 lol)
if somebody does ask me my sexuality i would say straight - it's easier to explain and i don't have to fear people judging me

I thought I was bisexual for a while, but I think it's more of a curiosity because I really can't see myself being in a relationship with a girl in a nonsexual way. I know that sounds insane, but guys make me feel safer and it just seems more natural for me for a relationship long term.
