FRESNO, Calif. - An unidentified California man has become a hero after he walked into a roaring house fire and rescued a man trapped inside.

Amazing cell phone video of a house on fire in Fresno, Calif., shows the man calmly walk towards the house and enter the flames. Moments later he walks out with a man over his shoulder.

The fire engulfed the entire duplex home in huge flames and thick smoke. A woman called 911 and said her 73-year-old father was trapped inside.

Michael Alcala told ABC he was one of three men who helped rescue the man, but the other two men left moments after the rescue and their identities are not known.

The unidentified man was taken to a hospital for a check up. He is being called a hero for risking his life to save another.

I know around 30 people who have done that and have never even got a thanks. I won't celebrate this guy. Thanks for what he did yeah but I won't call him a Hero.

^ I'm with Dan on this one.

At least it makes the news look less depressing/more colorful.

Interesting he doesn't want to be known. You should never go into a burning building if you aren't trained to do so. Kind of a weird story, I am happy that they were able to save the man from the fire, but weird you're just gonna leave the scene like that and not get credit for doing what seems like that. Anyways, just happy the guy was saved so it sheds some light to the story.

Its a pity that the 30 heroic people you know hasnt been accepted as heroes. They should...
But thats not this unidentified mans fault.
If you'd call the 30 people heroes for doing the same thing, then he is too

He may not be a hero to you guys, but he is a hero to that seventy-three year old man. That's what matters.

Exactly. He may not have received a medal or anything. But he saved an elderly mans life. Which saved many of his children and grandchildren a whole lot of grief and depression. A life is worth more than any old medal or front page on the paper.
