I am on probation, so I can't drink or do drugs. Most of my friends do drugs, so I tried to stay away. But then I ended up really lonely and still wanting to get high anyways. Be for I got arrested I didn't smoke weed that often, but now every day I want to get high. It has been almost a year. How do I stop this?

Wow, that's tough. All I can tell you is getting high/drunk at this point will definitely not be worth the consequences.
Also, what are your hobbies/interests? Getting more involved in them could keep you occupied and take your mind off drugs and alcohol.

I am so happy that you accept your addiction, and you want help and support for this. Drug addictions can be real hard to deal with so I can fully understand. I just suggest that you get a good system for yourself. Surround yourself with positive people and things. Rehabilitate yourself, if you find yourself into a loop, tell someone. Write down your feelings or take up an activity to express yourself. Think about cons of getting back into the habit of drugs.

I have faith that you can do this, a year drug free is awesome. That is a big accomplishment. Only think about the positives, and have positive dreams for your future. Good luck. :)

Staying clean is not going to be easy unless you truly want to stay clean, and even then it's not always black and white. Unfortunately if you're having a hard time staying clean, you may need to cut yourself off from influences in your life that are leading you to want to smoke or use drugs. Surround yourself with support, and fizzle out the negative influences.

If you've made it almost a year, then you are definitely capable of going even longer, or stopping completely. One good thought to keep in mind is that you are doing this to benefit your life -- it will help you in the long run. Drugs are a slippery slope, and if you go back you're going to slip and fall down again, and getting back up the second time is much more difficult than the first.

Good luck and don't forget that VT will always be a support system for you, no matter what happens.

You are right on one account, I want help. But with a self control problem, not a drug addiction.I am not being drug tested at this time. I am a dare devil I think I get away with anything, but I know if I smoke I will get tested. I impulsively do stupid things and that's what got me arrested in the first place. Wanting to get high is a symptom not the problem.

Need to change lifestyle. New hobbies you can be pationate about. Need a perfectly new mindset where addiction can't be a part of your lifestyle.
