Hi girls. Please let me know using tampons can damage hymen or interfere in anyway?

Well it could potentially stretch your hymen, but so can things such as bike riding/etc. It's nothing to worry about.

Sorry, but I want to elaborate on this, since as it stands now, this just sounds like propagation of a myth (which may not have been the intention). Please read Ren's explanation of the hymen myth here (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/showthread.php?t=204453). Ren was completely right when they said it could stretch your hymen. At worst, putting anything up your vagina could tear your hymen but it will heal (and I've personally never heard of a tampon doing that kind of damage, but I suppose it's possible). The hymen never goes away, despite all the myth about cherry-popping and bullshit like that.

A doctor or a sexual partner will not be able to tell the difference between someone who uses tampons and someone who doesn't, unless you used one recently.

But do they hurt? I have only used them twice ... and it was in a tent camp ... so I put it bad and it hurted a lot ... but if you put them properly , do they hurt?

No mini tampon should not hurt if you put them in properly. They only would hurt if you had a very weak periode when you pull them out to early. A tampon fits perfectly if you don't feel it. So I think you put it no right in. This is something you should porbably try best at home first, when you can relax. It was maybe only a bad enviorment to try them at a tent camp. If you like to use tampons, try it the next time you got your periode and you are at home.

No problem, I like to help :D. I think your mum can understand your wish. My did it when I wanted tampons at the age of 13.

Your hymen stretching or tearing does not mean you aren't a virgin anymore. Just going to throw that out there.

You could have stretched it already just running in PE and never even noticed. It's not a big deal.

With that said, yes tampons could potentially stretch your hymen.

But they don't hurt at all. It feels a little odd the first time you insert it, but it's a feeling you get used to.

Well lots of things can break your hymen besides sex. Riding a bike, tampons, sports, masturbating etc. I think mine broke before I had sex somehow because I didnt bleed at all my first time.
