-- Hurricane Katrina's fury has reignited the scientific debate over whether global warming might be making hurricanes more ferocious. --

The above was quoted from JOSEPH B. VERRENGIA

What do you all think about these acusations.

You quoted the wrong thing. lol. Right now I really don't care about global warming. What I do care about is how the hell we are going to get around with 4 dollar gas. And also how the hell we are going to heat our homes.

ITS NOT ALL BECAUSE OF BUSH. Go damn Austin. You think everything is because of Bush. Aids=Bush caused it, West Nile Virus=Bush caused it, Global warming= Bush caused it. Bush didn't do these things!!! Get it out of your head that Bush is the big bad person that causes terror and sickness all over the world!!
Its the whole world that causes these things Austin. Not just the US. We, as humans, have been polluting ever since the dawn of man!!! You can't just say "no more pollution!" like that! Do you think you are going to get the WHOLE world to stop using cars? Do you think you are going to get the whole world to stop Producing good, which would stop the pollution?! NO.
So stop thinking that the US is all big and bad, and everywhere else is like living in heaven!!! You are the shallow minded one! Your accusations are completely false!!

ture, Mr. Bush has done what he thinks was right. Maybe its not the best time to free the middle east right now, but some day I hope it will be. You need to understand that hes human just like you and me. See.

Its a huge problem and its growing on us fast, It may not affect us much in our lifetimes, But a few generations down the line...
We need to do something, We need the world leaders to sort this.

all you people are full of shit. first of all nothing any of us did in our lifetimes could change the enviornement of the globe to make hurricanes bigger, so instead of pointing the finger at one person you should instead point it collectively at every human since the industrial revolution.

how about we point it at nobody and start making changes in the way we live, one step at a time. Why are you so ignortent of the fact that we can make a difference, what we do will reflect on the generations after us. we have to make good examples for the future.

I'm savin now so i can get a hybrid when I get my license. I care about the future, I may not know what it's like and we don't know if they'll laugh at us, but it's still an issue, one that I care about.

i think we owe it to our descendants to make the world an enjoyable place to live in. if everyone thinks "oh it wont affect my lifetime", eventually people WILL be living that lifetime. we owe it to the future to be responsible citizens NOW

Its scary. Our generation will face the task and fix it. So there is nothing to worry about.

First off I would like to point out a couple of things
-I do support not polluting, no one is ever going to argue that polution is good
-While polution is bad, bringing the current economy to a "carbon emission holt" would be much worse than maybe waiting a decade or so inorder to develope new technologies that are cleaner.
-oil will run out, and when we start using hydrogen, corn oil or w/e ppl won't have to be pushed in to the new cars as horse riders weren't pushed into cars.
-there is very little reliable data relating to the average temperature of the earth from anywhere over 300 years ago.
-The "hockey stick graph" has been questioned and there have been little awnsers. please try and point to something else. I can't remember who but some congressman is currently trying to get a real probe into the validity of that specific graph.
-I have personaly looked at the results form many differnet computer models and they have come out with vastly different outcomes. for 1 to 6 degrees of differnce. They can't even agree if the effect of carbon dioxide (the main gass in question) is logritmic (diminishing returns) linear (straight line) or exponential (increasing returns) this is frankly sad.
