I like to drown out my depression by listening to music. But when I'm depressed in like to listen to

Kim by Eminem

Look up a lyrics video but it may trigger or some shit.

Is it healthy to listen to that to drown out my depression? It helps a lot.

If I remember right, isn't that about his ex-wife? (Read: isn't this song kinda violent and misogynistic if I remember right?) It's been a while since I've listened to it. I can't really remember, and being on mobile, I don't want to look it up at the moment.

Anyways, I feel like as long as the music isn't making you feel violent, agitated, etc., go for it.

Sometimes I listen to Rage Against the Machine when I'm mad and I want to emulate that.

Its about how Eminem killed Kim's husband and stepson. 4 years old.

And kills her in the forest.

i think it's okay to listen to music like that when you're feeling strong emotions, it can be a way of venting i guess? If you feel like it helps you then i see no reason why you shouldn't listen to it

some of the music i listen to when i'm feeling down can be quite violent and such, but it doesn't mean that i would ever do some of the things mentioned in the lyrics in reality

I guess it's fine. I'm a hip hop fan myself and I think it's a good form of expression to listen to. I don't know his reasons for writing that song as I don't really know his personal life. I mean as long as it calms you down and you feel related and connected to it, I don't see the problem.

listening to music can help. It can help calm you down. though if you are feeling depressed, music will not help the cause it will only help treat the current symptoms of depression you have. try to maybe see a counselor or someone who can help treat the actual problem. but for the time being, if music helps, then by all means use it
