College Letters...

I am a high school sophomore (10th grade), and college, while I do plan to attend, is not exactly on the top of my to do list. But, apparently, because I've taken some AP classes I must be on the "annoy the fuck out of with consistant and incessant mail". Right now, on my bed, I have about 6 different letters from 6 different colleges/universities (and this is from 2 days of mail). What do I do about this?

Should I just go ahead and open them, or wait until Monday to ask my school counselor about it? (I'm on intersession right now).

I get them, too. They're really, really pointless. You may as well open them.

I always open mail as soon as I get it. Especially if it's to do with school and careers. There could be a time frame to when you need to mail something back and by procrastinating reading the letter might be a problem for you.

If there is something you don't understand or need help with as far as college choice, then you can talk to your counselor after. But I would read the letters first just for the record.

Are you interested in the schools in question?

If so, open them. If not, it's entirely up to your digression.

I find that these college outreach letters are usually a mere nuisance.

Open them, they're not going to explode or anything, it doesn't matter if you open them now or after you see your counselor. Besides, like Elysium said, they are pointless letters anyway. *voice becomes cold and cynical, and somewhat sad* No point letting the curiosity eat away at your very soul, much like the ever darkening abyss wich stretches out in front of you for all eternity.

I would open them - read over if you have any questions etc need more info then you can either make out a list or just be ready to ask in school -

^ exactly. if you open the letters you can know what they are about and then if you have more questions you can go from there
