My friend told my ex bf that i wanted to break him and his gf up. This isnt true but he fell for it. He now claims he wants nothing to do with me, but i want him back as a friend and, being honest, i never stopped loving him since we first met. But i know he is happy with his gf which makes me happy so we were just friends. Now we are not because of my other friend who i have also disowned as a friend.

I'm sorry that happened. My only hope is that he comes around about it. Because you didn't tell him personally, maybe he will let it go eventually. There are always misunderstandings, even between friends. This could have been one of those. At this point, just try to move on and try calling him and apologizing even though it wasn't your fault. If you still can't get to him, just be patient about it for now.

I am happy that you no longer talk to the friend who said that. That's a good start, don't surround yourself with fake people and those who lie. Friendships are not supposed to be about that. I do have hope that this will all go good for you. Take care of yourself.

I'm afraid it's very very hard to fix that kind of thing, as insidious whisperings are often believed. Only thing you could try is talking to the good friend 'man to man' and explain the situation. Good luck man.

thats so bad - sorry that happened but you can only try and speak to him and tell him the truth. honestly if he does not believe you - then he is not worth your time so do not feel bad if it does not work out.

I agree that this is probably going to be a tough thing to fix. Really all you can do is text him or something to say that what he heard isn't true and that you are happy him and his gf are together. Hopefully in time he'll believe you over the friend but no guarantees. I hope it when false rumours break up people like this, it's not fair.

try to explain what happened the best you can. be honest. hopefully he knows you will enough to know you are telling the truth
