I am currently in a college group and we plan to go into high schools and implement LGBT+ clubs and minority safe zones to make people feel comfortable in at least one place at all times. I am interested in what you guys are offered in your places of education as far as LGBT+ groups are concerned.

No, but I was thinking about growing a pair, stepping up to the plate and starting one myself.

My uni does yup, and my high school does as well, and did when I attended 2+ years ago.

I hope this works out for you, it's an awesome idea! :D

It's definitely worth a shot. It's not as hard as it seems starting clubs.

Thanks! I feel that my high school GSA really helped lots of people in it, but I didn't join a LGBT group until college. They are really pretty cool places and not nearly as depressing as I expected :P . I expected depressing topics about bullying and stuff, but really they just allow open discussion without fear of persecution. That's the main reason we are trying to spread these groups across high school and other colleges in our area.

We have a GSA club that meets roughly every other week. I'm not sure what they actually do in the club, but occasionally they'll get involved in activities. It's not a major presence, but it's there.

I marked that I'm not currently taking classes as I attend a correspondence school. It'd be a little hard for it to implement this idea. :P

Yes. I've signed up for it, but I never go. :P I think it's worthwhile though - they have a pretty big influence at my school.

They do but we usually meet after class, outside at a community center. We go out for drinks and food after each meeting. It's cool. :)

No.

I attend an online school, but we do have many clubs and groups, and they're all national. The way the school works, is there are different schools run by different states, but they all use the same website which is available all over the country. There is also a private national option for states that don't have schools. Because of this, the clubs are not student run, so I would have no way of starting one. If there were one, I wouldn't really want to do it anyways, but there are probably a whole lot of kids who would benefit from a GSA or LGBT+ club so I am in no way opposed to having one, it's just not really my thing.

My high school doesn't have an LGBT group but there is support from school counsellors for any student struggling with sexuality stuff. Though in the UK all )or nearly all) universities have an active LGBT+ group.

We have a small Gay-Straight Alliance (I want to change the name to be more inclusive). Despite being comprised of less than 20 members, we get a lot done.

No. The reason being is because I am homeschooling. I'm considering public school next year. I believe the school has some though

No, and I will be out in college so I wouldn't belong to one of them anyway.

No my school doesn't have that. Surprising as it is, there are no LGBT in my school anyways. So it would be useless.
Even if there were a LGBT person, they would NEVER reveal themselves. It is suicidal.

Yes, my school has multiple LGBT clubs. However, I do not partake in any for the reason that I am not out yet. I would so love to be in them, but for the risk of outing myself I cannot join.

My school has 1 GSA. But really, I don't even think they do anything. I've been there a few times and all they really do is play games. It's like a room full of LGBT people playing a group game together and that's it…

I stopped going. I wanted to get involved and help the school community about LGBT and stuff… but I guess not :/ all they do is games.

My school does not have any. A lot of the people in my school are against the LGBT community so I imagine that anyone within the community would be scared to go to a club or organisation due to the shit they would get from others.

My school used to have a GSA, now I believe is is called SAGE. Never really had an interest in joining, If I would it would only be to meet other lgbt people :P They don't have much of a presence and they never seem to do much, although I do faintly recall a float last year in some parade.

No my hs does not. I think they should but I'm not sure how many people are actually LGBT... I know I would go it would be an easier way to be more open about me being bisexual

My local highnschool has one. It's actually been pretty effective and they've drew a pretty big crowd in it. I'm personally an only child home schooler but if I wasn't homeschooled I'd totally join the club.

My school does, and I am a leader, however it isn't very effective because LGBT teens that should be in the club don't come and the rest of the school just doesn't care. We are currently trying to raise the awareness of the group by putting up signs and selling wristbands.

My school only has around one hundred students, and it's an all grade school. It has sports teams and drama club, but besides that we don't have enough people/interest for anything else. I don't mind it, though. With such a small place, everyone is connected in a way and so you know how to act accordingly.
