Oh My Gosh! :D

(Sorry about the multiple threads in one day, but this is really important!)

Alright, so last year, I was a tutor/volunteer TA at the middle school in town here. One day, one of the tutors whom I'd known since I went to school there told me that if a position ever opened up, they might hire me.

So tonight, I was looking at the local department of workforce services website, and Lo and behold, A BULLETIN FOR A MIDDLE SCHOOL TUTOR!

There are things I'm a bit tentative about, however, I really think I've got a shot at getting this job! I'm so excited! I've wanted this job for over a year now, and it pays almost $5/hr more than my previous job did!!


I'm just so happy! :D

I'm trying not to get my hopes TOO high though- my inability to do math, my lack of a highschool diploma, my age, and a few other things make me worry that they'll decide someone is a better fit (rightfully so), or that I'm just not ready yet (but this is almost certainly my last chance...)

However, I know everyone well, and have known them for years, I know plenty of people who can vouch for my work ethic, AND I have experience, so I think I still have a shot!

I'm so excited right now. Ugh. :P

I'm sure you'll make an awesome middle school teacher. Middle school age kids can be complete fucking dickheads because they're young enough to be really immature but old enough to be caddy and mean, but I'm sure you'll do fine.

Eh, I've done this all before, so it's not going to be a super big shock to my system- I'd just be doing it on a regular basis, and getting paid :D

The older I get, the less I look like them and they generally listen to me because I'm like in-between "cool older kid" and "adult I have to respect". It's pretty fucking great. XD

But yeah, they can be a mess at times. But eh, so can adults. :P Adults are worse, imo

Reminds me of a story, my uncle wanted to be a teacher, more than anything in the world, but he didn't pass the background check, 20 years erlier he had been mistakenly arrested at a peacful protest, even the police investigator admits it was a mistake and that he did nothing wrong, yet, because he has a record, he can't teach, even though it's legaly aknowleged that it was no fault of his own, and the fault of a cop. Now he can't get the job hes wanted for years, because he DARED try and express his views in a peacful way, fuck the system...I'm very off topic.
