For a start, I'd like to say, Microsoft doesn't seem able to count properly, first the Xbone 1, now Windows 10, what retard is in charge of naming these things?
What are your opinions on it? To me it just seems like Windows 8 but with a start menu, and multiple desktops. That seems to be about it.
What about you guys, hyped about it? Or, like me, do you not give a shit?

Well, they got it right, finally.
[1] Win1, [2] Win2, [3] Win3, [4] Win95, [5] Win98, (W2000), (WME), [6] WinXP, [7] WinVista, [8] W7, [9] W8, [10] W10.
I'm actually excited about this. I already got used to W8.1. An OS upgrade is always nice, native multiple desktops are more than welcome and that ugly full-screen metro apps are going away. I already got used to and prefer Metro's start (hate me :lol:) so I'm not most excited for the return of the start menu but it's a great thing that they're putting it back. cmd is also going to be slightly adjusted.
The minute it's out I'll be acquiring it from Dreamspark. I might even try to ask for a new PC because mine "doesn't run" W10.

I would like to have it, but to be honest I can't be bothered mssing with my laptop, it'd mean I have to remove linux Mint, and OI dont want to do that. I MAY do it, BUT, I want to see it in action first.
And may I be the first to say "THANK FUCKOING GOD THE SART MENUS BACK, THANK HOLY CHRIST, PRAISE JEBUS!"

Why remove Linux? You could dual boot by installing Windows and then re-installing GRUB through a live CD.
Also, Apps sorted by most used > Start Menu
It's way easier
(Then again I use fences so I have all of my program shortcuts on my desktop)

I laready dual boot with Ubuntu (LOVE Ubuntu) and Mint (not a massive fan of mint but it has features I need), and I can't find a decent partitioning software for Linux ANYWHERE, so if I want to istall it, it'd have to be on an existing partition, meaning Mint woul'd have to go.
All I have to do is hope that it'd recognise my wifi card out of the BOX becase I HIGHLY doubt that they will make a driver for such an outdated laptop (2011)

I just hope it's one single OS unlike win8 where they kinds kept the 7 desktop and kinda got a new tile desktop and there were like two different modes and shit.
To be honest, I would just prefer they released some kind of windows 7.1 that's just a spruced up 7. You shouldn't fix what isn't broken.

I never heard about Windows 10 before untill this post. Well, I prefer my good Windows 7 pc over 8. I don't have, but I've seen it and prefer 7, I used xp, but that was quite some time ago, don't really remember it as I wasn't even 10 back then.

I think everyone was hoping for that, but this is Microdick...I mean Microsoft...they won't admit there mistake, they are intent on keeping as much of 8 as they can whilst still bending over and lubing up for the consumer.

You can accquire a preview on W10 here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/preview
While I haven't got it myself, MSoft has to do way more if it wants hype, judging by reddit comments.

Windows 8 barely came out. ugh. :(
I guess companies know how stupid this generation is and how we are gonna end up buying and dealing with it anyways and being suckered in. Why can't things stay the same.

Possibly not: Windows 9 Will be Free for Windows 8 Users (http://www.gamespot.com/articles/windows-9-will-be-free-for-windows-8-users-report/1100-6422642/).
The problem is that noone wants to transition from W7 to W8(.1). The strategy should be using the newer OS's features for better updates and software available, but then there's W7 (and previosuly, WinXP!) dragging them down. MSoft is just trying to gain their consumers back to the modern platform.

I come to you today from Windows 10, as far as I can tell I'm the first VTer to addopt it. I've been using it for about 2 hours now, and I really like it. Very nice OS, even for an Alfa, or Beta, whatever it is, it's good.
Edit:
Yep, I really like Windows 10, it's smooth, even on my old laptop, it boots up fast and shuts down fast, the new start menu is devine, and I'm currently trying to figure out how to use Multi Desktops.
Edit 2:
I love Windows 10....W10 is love, W10 is life.

Thats not what I think, this is actually the 10th release of Windows, threy have all been 1 number behind the actual relese up untill now, this si the first correctly named one in years, so it doesn't bother me. Also, Microsoft claim it's so that people don't think t's similar to 8, it's as if they want to forget that 8 ever existed.
I highly reccomend you try 10, 'tis very good.

10 is COMPLEATLY different from 8, they are nothing alike, even the beta for 10 has features that 8 doesn't. You can't compare them at all.

I feel that it's not majorly different than Win8 other than what win8 should have been! Almost like What Win7 did (being a huge clean-up and workable version of Vista). As for the numbering, I've read that people who do scripting often still use a Getversion number and startswith=9 to see if the script is being run on a win95/98 device (yes they are still out there) so avoided win9 not to break those scripts

Windows alwayd soes that, they relese something shit, then the next year they fix there mistake and release something brillian. Watch
XP = Brilliant
Vista = Shit
7 = Brilliant
8/8.1 = Shit
10 = Brillitant
Notice a pattern here?

It's not an error. Just some line of code that matches software & the OS using the letter 9... So basically they skipped Windows 9 so some software wouldn't confuse it with 95 or 98 i.o compabatibility issues.

I like it, the only things I don't like about it are :
1. The apps are for high resolution ( Big Screened ) computers and or laptops, I wish they'd make it where netbooks could access them as well.
2. My AVG shield thingy won't stay on, it keeps turning off and it won't update as well because its not compatible with the system.
Other than that, windows 10 is awesome.

Well, I'm glad to see Microsoft actually listening to their customers for a change. I tried Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows 8/8.1 and the best out of all of them was Windows 7. I always thought it was better to opt for the newest versions out there but gee', I was wrong. I am fine with Windows XP and Windows 7 those are my two of choice, however I am running Windows 8.1 and I have nothing but problems. The performance is fine but I always thought Windows 7 was just a nicer version of Windows XP. However, I think Windows 7 is the greatest operating system of all time, specifically the 'Ultimate' version. Windows 10, just seems as a mix-up between Windows 7 and 8, nothing special. I would really like to see a Windows XP/7 type theme, or maybe an add-on that we can download from Microsoft for a small fee.

For a small fee? You want DLC in an OS now? Jeez, brainwashed much? :P
Once you use 10 you'll see that it is basically 7, but with a few more features and performance upgrades. They have 1 or 2 things that need fixing, but its in Beta, what do you expect? I spend a LOT of time on computers, I know what I like, and honestly, I've been using 10 since it was released, and I really like it, and its not as if I'm one of these blind people who just nod and let Microsoft spoon feed them, if they fuck up I'll call them out, but 10, it really is very good, I have yet to find someone who doesn't like it. (Apart from an Apple fanboy troll who went on a a rant about why osx was better, but the opinions of trolls are worthless)

Anywhere in the weekend I'll get Win10! It's taking me over a day to download the image, plus I needed to fix some HDD problems on my desktop so I could transfer my stuff from the notebook completely. I'm totally redoing the notebook too, getting rid of that pesky GPT (since the warranty was already voided, why not) partition table and say hello to MBR. I'll also either get #! again or maybe some Slackware-based OS.

^ Well, it is a technical preview. It's not supposed to be stable nor intended for every day use, rather to test out new features and report to MSoft for bugs, like your sound driver problem

Really cool that the community loves XP so much that they go to these lengths to keep it alive. As far as I can tell, XP is the most loved OS of all time.

Really feels like it should just be 8.2.. It's not much different when you think of the difference between xp > vista, vista > 7, and 7 > 8
They just adopted some minor tools from Apple for multi-tasking and got back their start menu, which is easily attainable already on 8.1 by downloading Classic Shell
That being said... I'm still gonna get it for sure
