Hmm this is confusing me

I was on miniclip and when u submit ur score you see the country your from next to your name and score, but mine came up as usa even though im uk

Its not urgent just I'm not using any proxies or anything and cant figure it out any advice?

i am pretty sure they get that location based on your ip address, which depending on how your isp routs internet traffic could show to be in another city, or even in another city country. If you want to find out if that is the case first go here (http://whatismyip.com/) get your ip adress, then go here (http://www.ip2location.com/demo.aspx) and see where it says your location is.

I just thought of something maybe its your settings on miniclips

and its not really a big deal andy

Some ISPs are this way. I've heard about a few at least in the UK that does this. AOL is one. Their servers are located in the US, so it shows you as being in the US because of the owner of your IP Address.

Whoever your ISP is likely is owned by some company in the US, or registered to a company in the US, so it shows your location as the US.

Right it turns out I was using a proxy, my sisters bf had set one up for my "downloading" oh well all fixed now thanks guys
