There's a new kid at my high school. I have seminary (a religion class) with him. He's a sophomore (he turned 16 in April and is planning on graduating early) and I'm a senior (I just turned 17). Sadie's is coming up. I'm not sure if it's like this at every school but at ours Sadie's is casual. I like him a little but I also want to get to know him better. I also thought it might be nice to ask him since he doesn't know hardly anyone at our school. Should I?

Yeah go for it. Worst case scenario, he says no, people try to make fun or whatever, you can say you were just being nice. There's no losing situation

What's Sadies? And it's perfectly acceptable to ask someone to go somewhere with you as long as it's an appropriate place.

I believe it is a dance where the girls ask the guys to it. Sadie Hawkins or something.

Ask him, this would be a great opportunity to get to know him! Ask him and make sure he knows it is just as friends that way you two can slowly progress your friendship and ease into the next levels. Since it is a casual dance that makes it so much easier on the both of you and makes it far more casual. :)

Have fun!

I think it's a great idea and since it's just a casual thing, if things don't work out then it's not the end of the world. It's a great opportunity to get to know him a little and could really be the springboard to building a friendship to start with. Go for it!!!

Of course. Even if he says no, try to be persistent. He seems kinda shy so try to get him to go with you. But don't force him though. Good luck. Hopefully things go well.

😵^ Thats exactly what my mother says so if it was me i would go for it because like he said the worst thing is that he says no but you can always tell them that you were being nice and if they still criticize you then you probably dont have the nicest and best of friends. No offence. Just go for it.
