They've got no problem with people "protesting" and robbing places but once an officer wears a tiny little wristband the community erupts.

Don't you just love double standards?

The last time I checked federal agents were against robbing and rioting as much as they were against police officers wearing bracelets that threaten to hinder already awful public relations further.
It's federal agents that took action. And federal agents took action because they recognised it was awful public-relations policy. Residents just brought it to their attention.
---
Though, for fun, you can go actually prove than any single resident who complained supported robbing and rioting.
Baseless presumptions of double standards are just baseless presumptions of double standards otherwise.

I think they just don't want it to start another riot.

It probably just shows a hidden message or something if a cop were to have one on I guess. This is already a controversial hot topic with regards of racial issues and police brutality so maybe it allows people to see what team the person supports or they feel it takes away from what they are trying to achieve which is stopping the people vs the police problem.

ideally they could wear swastika wristbands for all I care (can't have mine though, get your own lmao) more seriously, I think it's a good idea to avoid rabble-rousing whenever possible. we're dealing with folks who will literally set a city on fire (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1992_Los_Angeles_riots) at the drop of a hat, and a media empire that baits and goads them with egregiously biased and sensationalist racial "news". let's not throw gasoline on that fire pls, enough asses have been capped as it is

Well, I have to admit that it is a bit insensitive. Of course, because of the first amendment, people can express themselves however they want without punishment (or should be able to).
Freedom of expression causes so many problems.

It's more that the police as a whole get hated regardless of what individuals within the police do.
This is because there's a perceived Police Culture (Blue Code Of Silence) existent within the institution.

As one of the comments to the article stated...
The problem is that the people feel that that have the right to refuse a lawful order. Like this incident, were some in population refuse to obey the laws of this country. If your rights are violated trust me a lawyer will sue the living shit out of the agency. Do not blame the police. Blame the news , their parents and the fool who thinks he is above the Law
I would agree..people now day lack personal responsibility. When they are caught in the act of committing criminal activities/breaking the law...., either the Race card is played( something that I am seriously getting tired of ) or some other lame excuse. The consequences of ones actions is never the own criminals fault...so it seems.
