Its one big room for the showers and they are open with showers heads on the walls. Yea I am in the states.

At my high school we do have locker rooms with open showers. I can't answer the next questions because I haven't used them.

Yeah, all high schools have locker rooms. If I'm not mistaken, they all require that you change before going to P.E. class. And since high school has all those heavy sports like football and such, most of them are likely to have showers. And being that the school district is cheap, most showers are open and aren't going to be remodeled just to calm teenage angst about nakedness around other guys. However, not all schools require that you shower after a P.E. class, so there's not much to worry there.

In terms of looking at other guys, I bet you there's always someone in the locker room sneaking a peek at someone else. It's the teenage hormone and curiosity; it's bound to happen. It'll be heck of awkward if you're caught, but it'll happen. And truth be told, I was guilty of that myself looking at a football player who changed next to me during and after P.E. Class.

And it definitely is appropriate to talk to someone else during a shower. It's a public place, not some prison where guards are standing around making sure nobody's planning some kind of riot or escape. It's just a basic regular conversation except without the clothes on.

Overall, don't worry too much about the locker rooms and showers in high school. Like I said, most schools don't even make it a requirement that you shower after P.E. My old high school merely used the shower section as an extra storage space for random gear and crap.

my school has one central locker room with showers in it, so when we finish in the weight room or wherever, we go back to the locker room and shower and change, its open bay style and we all talk to eachother while we shower, its kind of distracting and takes away the feeling of being uncomfortable

Most high school weight rooms do have a locker room but showers however, I do not know since my school does not have showers.

That just depends on the person.

I think it is appropriate as long as you don't do anything sexual.

We have open showers here and some of the kids including me use them. It's not a big deal we've all seen guys naked before

In my middle school and high school we do have weight rooms and showers but nobody ever uses the shower because most athletic classes are held on the last two periods, right before we go home.

My high and middle school have showers, but nobody uses them after PE even if they have it 1st period like i do. They're pretty much reserved for the sports teams. Most of the guys on the football team at least peek every now an then. Then theres Gary, who just stares at everyones junk -_-

They only have our showers open for after school but in there people do look around and talk with eachother
