yesterday, I posted about how my depression was really bad, and now it's getting worse. If it gets worse, I don't know if I can handle it. I feel like I'm about to snap. I don't want to kill myself, but I feel like I'm in a bad state of mind, and I might do something I don't want to. A few minutes ago, I started drinking a bottle of cough syrup to see what would happen, but I stopped myself before taking too much. I just feel like this is no way to live, and if I reach that point where it's just too much, what am I supposed to do? I think I'm going to have some kind of mental breakdown.

if you feel like you are on the edge and about to go over, then i think you really need to find someone to talk to. dont try to go it alone because it will only lead to a bad situation that you will lose control of completely. if you need to go see someone, there are plenty of therapist and doctors that will talk to you free of charge if you are in a real crisis. If you cant get to them then you can call the boystown hotline, I have talked to them on many occassions when I was on edge. I wish I would have called them beofre I took a lot of pills and wound up in the psych ward for a week. try them and see if it helps you. http://www.boystown.org/hotline

If you feel like you can no longer handle it then please go to a doctor so that they can refer you to a therapist/psychologist. Realistically nobody can deal with depression and anxiety and the like all by themselves. You need to talk to someone who can help and support you in order for you to get better. Because if you keep putting off seeking professional help then it will only get worse.
