I'm in a math course, I've liked math since I was in 10th grade, but my grades were only average, and in the entrance exam I got a 12 out of 20, while most of my college classmates got 15 and higher... Will I stand a chance in my course?

You didn't really tell us about the course. Based on that score, I still think you'll be okay. I, personally, have never been able to do math. Like, I just didn't understand it and no amount of tutoring helped me. But you're close to your class average. If you want to get better, maybe consider a tutor or doing extra work just to get the practice?

I have a friend who is a math graduate, he can help me whenever I need. I normally study a lot for college(the economy is as it is, and if I don't have a degree, my future will be absolutely screwed). I just feel bad because I'm weak compared to them, I feel like it isn't my place. I feel like a lvl 1 noob amongst lvl 70 pros... Yes, I will ask them for help whenever I need, but I just hate feeling like this...

Everyone learns differently and at different speeds. Some of us aren't well-suited to math. You sound far better than I ever will be.

Thanks for those kind words, but how can I stop feeling this bad? I know I shouldn't compare myself to others, but the thought of being only average bothers me...

Don't feel bad. Being "average" is not bad. On a marking scale, it means you're doing exactly what you need to do at the level you need to be doing it at. You don't have to be a genius and achieve super high marks. We all want to but being "average" just means you are learning at exactly the rate you're supposed to be. It's nothing to feel bad about. Besides, we all excel in different areas. In grade 10 I got a 60 in math and a 98 in English. I'm very good in English and I was only average in math. I also cared significantly less about math so there is that...

Point is, average is not a bad thing. Average says you're where you should be. Some people will be better but that's just because their brains work differently than yours or they could just be putting a ton of work into what they're doing. Don't compare yourself to others because you don't know what they do to succeed, only focus on what helps you succeed.

I agree with Jo, being average is not bad. You should take a lot of notes in class and have a tutor/friend help you with the assignments your professor will give you.

I'm the same way.
I was always placed into the "higher" math classes, even though I wasn't good; I was pretty average. But I guess being in a more rigorous course and doing average is better then being in a super easy course and doing super well... that seems pretty pointless, to me at least; it's wasting your time.

Being average, I was always surrounded by these genius mathematicians that just automatically learned stuff. I on the other hand, always needed to put a bit more effort in. So in a way, it was good because I had to challenge myself. I'm sure you can be successful too, you'll just need to go the extra step and put in the extra effort.

And I am a bit of a perfectionist, so it does kill me a bit that I can't be perfect in math (and science), but I make up for it and excel in other areas; like the humanities. So know that you don't have to be the best in everything and perfect in all you do; no one is like that. ;) We've all got our strengths and weaknesses.

That does happen sometimes. You enjoy a subject and do really well but then all of a sudden, you get to the new course and it's just difficult to even pass. I'm not entirely sure if just passing will be okay and I'm not sure what the passing mark is in your country, but if you doubt yourself, find out what you're doing wrong and you can self-study. If it's difficult, ask a teacher or even get yourself a tutor. I'm sure you'll do fine, but getting better marks is for security to make sure things will be okay.

If you are willing to put in the effort, you can and will succeed. My favourite way of improving in math was finding out exactly why I was learning each thing and implementing that into real life situations. Once you see the real use to something it becomes way more motivating to learn it. After doing that for a while you will start to actually like word problems, and excel at a ton of stuff.

to answer your question, with some hard work, yes you can get better. no one is equally as good at everything. math is not my strongest subject either. but if you know some people who are willing to help you than take it for sure. don't worry though, it is not the end of the world.

I think your better option is to start revising and studying for it, my school gives a lot of online revision sources that work but they're paid only from the school to the company. I think you should try ollowing online examples and questions to ensure that you know it. This works for anyone to remember the mathema equations and how to solve something and because you've already wrote it down, you can look over it and remember what you did.
Don't study for 90 minutes.
Do study for 30 minutes and then take a 5 minute break and then do another 30 etc

Though a logical thinking part, Math is about a lot of practice too.
