The Boy at the Piano
The boy at the piano
played a beautiful song
in the middle of town.
His melodies were heaven
to the ear as he
gracefully harmonized what
his heart felt. His music
said his life and he wouldn’t
play any other songs that
wasn’t in his life. He played
and played hiding the
tip jar in the piano secretly
accepting tips if anyone
wants to give. As he
played, he watched all
the people walking by
admiring the tune and
sometimes stop; then walk on.
One day a boy slightly
older than him came to
the piano to watch the
boy at the piano play
harmonies that ring like
church bells in his ears.
He started to talk to
him while the boy kept
playing as he responded.
Time flew by and the
boys still kept talking
and the piano still ringing.
As the boy walked closer
to the boy at the piano,
he saw the keys have
a couple water droplets
upon them. When he asked,
the boy at the piano
quivered out of his
breath that the sky started
sprinkling. The boy took
out a tissue and carefully
wiped them away trying
not to interfere with
the song the boy at the
piano was playing. The
boy took out some coins
and placed them in the
tip jar before he left
and said he’ll bring
more change the next
day. The boy at the
piano looked up to give
a smile saying thank
you with hope.
The next day, the
boy came back
with more change
like he promised;
and did everyday.
