My girlfriend and I have recently got caught but we're no longer allowed to see each other and I wanted to see if it's happened to you and what happened it doesn't have to be your boyfriend or girlfriend anyone you've sexted.

sadly its quite normal for parents to try and ignore the fact their "sweety angel" is growing up noticed that on me and heard from friends that behaviour is bullshit but sadly common.

I think you sext with only someone you are really committed to, for some time, especially for girls....it's Normal for anyone but be responsible

Now messages and pictures my parents have seen it. My family has a very open relationship (like we are nudists and not afraid to have sex with the door open like that open) now it wasn't always like that and my current girlfriend some years ago had explicit conversations with pictures and talking about sexual activity we will have and had and also they found messages of other girls not pictures just texts. I didn't get punished but they just told me to be careful
To be honest my dad was just saying boys will be boys, and I think there is a double standard on it but that's another forum lol

I sext all the time. I think it's great as long as you know and trust who your sending them too. I made the mistake of sending them to and trusting someone I had just met online and the photos and videos ended up on a few websites. Other than that it's good fun if your careful about it

Oh it hasn't happened to me because I don't have a partner.

In my opinion, sexting is a way some people have come up for getting masturbation fodder images and as an alternate way of having sex without actual physical contact, and it's something I would never indulge in. Given the latest scandals and the apparent trend of leaking them all over the internet, I make sure to not snap pictures about me that I would be later ashamed of being found out because some other idiot broke up with me and decided it would be fun to upload them and share them over the internet.

No, in my opinion it's not normal that anyone sexts. It's just that they want to do it and have found pleasure in doing it. It's not something that most people do on an everyday basis and taught as a custom or tradition to consider it "normal". Though broadly speaking it could be considered normal as in "hormone ridden teens" taking hot pictures of themselves and sending them to people they're attracted to, it happens quite often.

In my opinion, there's nothing overly wrong with it.. It's just teens being teens. As long as you're careful about it (not sexting complete strangers) and both involved aren't too young (I believe I started sexting around 13 or 14) than I don't see a problem with it.
Parents (particularly of females, fathers are usually naturally protective of their daughter(s)) often see a problem with this for whatever reason.. Some are more understanding though and turn a blind eye to it; I mean, it is just teens being teens after all..

Seems way over the top to me too. I guess parents are all different but I don't know how they can expect us to be perfect angels all the time. I know mine don't! But my Dad even told me once that he'd rather I made my mistakes when I was young so he was there to help me out if I needed it. Trading pics of naked girls my age is illegal in the US; however, it's perfectly acceptable for the government and it's agents to take the contents of people cell phones, and to read every text and email. Cops have been known to confiscate cell phones of teenagers they think are texting while driving, so that means they could have access to the pictures you sext.

As we saw with the whole "fapgate" thing even the cloud isn't safe from prying eyes. Bottom line, if you don't want the entire internet to see it, don't send it.
