My sister is about to get her first smartphone, and because some Lumia has a better camera than the Samsungs of the same price range (low-end), she's considering the windows OS. As much as I think it's not the greatest idea, honestly, I've never touched a windows phone  I don't want to give a heavily bias opinion, and I might as well learn a bit more!
If you have a Windows phone, do you enjoy it? How does it compare to other phones?
Thanks in advance for your answers!

I have one, it's a low end Lumia 520 running Windows Phone 8.1, and IMO it's pretty good, probably the best low end smartphone out there. WP is pretty fast and I can run nice apps (Facebook, Wpp, games, etc.)
I've had it for about 5 months and I don't have any complains. I've had an iPhone and a Samsung Galaxy S3, and like all of them.

Don't buy her a windows phone, they ate anti intuatice and make no logical sense, noithoing is in the place it should be, android is better later out and easier to learn,

Oh god, I hate Windows Phones with a burning passion. Ew. The operating system is so friggin wacked-out I felt like a grandma trying to use it.
Isn't Windows 8 enough torture as it is? Did they really have to put it in an even skeevier mobile format? Does Microsoft secretly hate us all?
But seriously, I'm kind of biased because I hate anything Microsoft has made that's newer than Windows 7.
So really, if your sister is uh, patient, and really wants the camera more than anything else (if she can figure out how to work the damn thing), maybe the phone is for her. *Sniggers*
But seriously, I'd advise against it. As much as I'm not a fan of Samsung, my S II actually had a pretty great camera for being so old and shitty. I personally don't know how other brands compare in the camera quality department, only having owned two smartphones, and not having been around a ton of others, but obviously older gen Apples are... N.G. I like my 5's camera most of the time (Just not when uploading to Facebook. Ugh, ew.), but those are pricey.
Maybe if the camera is that important to her, she could hold out a little longer, save up for a phone that's got a decent...Phone attached?

I wasn't a huge fan. It worked, the interface was relatively okay, but it didn't do what I needed it to do. There's almost no apps if you're into that and most of them look and handle terribly. I wouldn't advise to go for it but if it's low end and you're not doing more than calling and texting, it's just as good as anything else.

I have the Lumia 625. Its a pretty basic smart-phone, but it does what it does well. The Windows OS is very good, and it actually closely ties in sales to the Android OS. (Last time I checked.) Good camera, but if you want the best, the Lumia 1020 is the best choice. :yeah:
