I'm a Christian girl and I masturbate. Sometimes I wish I was a guy because they're so much more open about things than us girls are. I feel like a freak and very alone because I'm pretty sure my friends don't masturbate. I want to talk to them about it, because i just need to tell someone (not my parents!), but I'm afraid they'll think of me different and not want to be my friend. Does anyone out there have the same situation? I just feel really alone.

You are definitely not the only one, especially not the only religious one. Religion shouldn't play a part in whether or not you are allowed to explore and learn about the body you were given. If you believe God gave you the ability to feel pleasure, I don't think he has an issue with you using it (unless you give into lust and start cheating on you partner or something). But self-pleasure doesn't hurt anyone nor is it bad for you.

You are not a freak, you are just being a natural girl who is growing up. I thought I was alone when I started, sometimes I felt like I was doing something wrong and I didn't know why. A lot of girls with a religious upbringing are taught we are meant to save ourselves for a lifelong partner. That is a personal choice, in my opinion, and as long as you still have faith in God and live by his commandments and accept Jesus, blah blah gist of Christianity, you don't need me to explain it to you, you aren't doing anything that would go against your religion.

You can talk to your friends about it if you feel comfortable. My best friend and I didn't start talking about that stuff until we were like 17. Take your time but don't worry. If someone doesn't want to be your friend for performing a natural act, well, they need to get their priorities straight and that doesn't reflect on you.

If they really are your friends, they will accept you for who you are and for the fact that you masturbate. How do you know that they dont masterbate, alot of people say they dont but everyone does it. Maybe theyre shy and you should take the first step.

girls are more private about things like that. its not bad or anything its just how we are. and im the same way. none of my friends masturbate and so i felt kinda alone for awhile, but you can talk to people here and they won;t (or at least hopefully) they are not judging you for what you are doing. no one would think of you differently or at least i wouldnt since its part of us to want to seek pleasure and enjoy it.

I posted a topic about this a while back. I hear things that the reverend says about not masturbating and other sexual things but I don't like see anything about that in the Bible. Other girls here say the same thing that it's OK to touch yourself and I know they're right. I masturbate very often ;)

I read it earlier today and I hesitated to give a reaction, cos I'm not religious like a lot of Dutch and West European people.

I know people say 80% of girls masturbate, but that doesn't mean that makes it any easier to believe. I maaturbate a few times a week and without having one of my friends to talk to about it, Id have to say I wouldn't believe any girls did it at all except me. So there's nothing wrong with you for feeling uncomfortable over that thought. When I was a Christian, my problem with masturbation is that it felt like homosexuality because I'm a girl, and I'm a girl... But that was a stupid misconception of my own. Yep Im a Christian to and I masturbate 2-3 times a day. My mom told me to look at it this way, God gave us our bodies and if he didnt want sex to be pleasurable he wouldn't have made it pleasurable. So its not a sin to enjoy our body :) Also I know most of my girl fiends do and even talk about that and more with some of them.
