I'm 16 and slightly over weight at around 178 ( I don't personaly own a scale so I'm going by my last recorded weight.) I recently started exercising every day. I've never been lazy, but I kicked it up a notch, and now I jog/walk about two miles every day.

I have the my fitness pal app with it set to my current weight, and to help me loose weight and it says I should consume around 1750 calories per day. But I usually only consume about 1450 calories per day. And that's with no special diet. That's just how much I eat. But combined with the exercise the app says I should consume around 2,000 calories per day.

So, my question is, am I consuming to few calories every day? I want to loose weight but I don't want to get ill .

As long as you eat healthily then you shouldn't get ill
Its only if you start to over-exercise and don't eat enough that it's bad

(Urgh, we don't use Pounds or Calories in Australia)

So there are a couple things I would consider for your diet. Some of it is related, but I think it's all good if you're trying to lose weight.
1. How big are your portion sizes? If they are still quite an average size, don't worry about changing that.
2. Are you making sure you're getting enough micro-nutrients? While counting calories/kilojoules is sometimes a good thing, you have to be making sure that you're getting enough micro-nutrients. It's basically things like Vit. A, B, C, Zinc, Iron, and that.
3. Have you gone to a nutritionist? It may/may not be expensive, but in all seriousness, just by using an app which says "Put in your weight" isn't a very good estimate. Try going online to check. Some websites also put forth exercise and the lot.

I do think though, that you may be consuming a drastic amount under though. Considering here in Australia, average adult in 8700 kj (2079) and that a teenage male is about 11000 kj (2629), I do believe you may be wanting to consume a bit more. Keep in mind that it's not all about how much you eat as well, but also what you eat. I'm sure if you get the right amount of protein, fat and carbs, as well as the micro-nutrients, things will be fine.

All the best with losing weight~ :D
