Hi! i know for a fact that Catholic and Christian People believes on the 7 Deadly Sins and one of them is LUST. Lust, or lechery (carnal "luxuria") is an intense desire. Lust could be exemplified by the intense desire of money, food, fame, power or sex
So this is my question, Are you a PRO or a CON about MASTURBATION based on your Religion? please explain why or why not.

I'm Christian, and all for masturbation. Unless I'm blind, there's not one phrase in the Bible about masturbation being a sin. I don't think the good book even mentions it.

Im Christian and I do it. If the big guy up in the skies has a problem with it, oh well. Tooooooo bad. Everyone can masturbate. Its not like the bible physically makes you not be able to masturbate.

Lets get back to our time and reality. I know some people really believe the stuff from the bible, but come on. If we should stay away from everything the bible prohibits, we were still making fire by banging rocks together.
Im never for religion. So Power to masturbation!!

Its natural. Monkeys masturbate and they have no concept of sins which proves it is natural in life.

Okay, I would like to first point out that I am a christian so I know what you're saying BUT the bible doesn't say it is wrong to masturbate, I didn't and or doesn't say anything about actually. We're human, we "sin" everyday so if this is, then well ... what can you do ? it just happens. If you feel the need to do it, go ahead.
Now with that being said, I think of it this way , We were given an way to relieve our sexual urges without having to go out and actually have sex..... ( Sorry if this offends anyone but Oh well , I can't please everyone )
I don't masturbate but that's just me. Noting to do with religion, I just don't do it.

Islam says it's wrong too but I still masturbate. It's one of the things I've never been able to understand, how could something that comes across as so natural be wrong?

I'm Jew, and even if maturbation is something that we shouldn't do, is not like you're going to hell or something like that.
We're human beings, we do mistakes and G-d knows that.
I think the most important is to control masturbation and not let masturbation (and pleasure) control us.

I'm an Apatheist, so masturbation isn't an issue for me at all.
I've also studied Christianity extensively. I have an aunt who is a priest. And from what I've learned and what she's said, there is absolutely nothing wrong with it. According to the Christian religion, sex is a gift from God, both to reproduce and simply to enjoy ourselves. So it only makes sense that masturbation would be part of that gift.
My priest aunt also says homosexuality isn't against God, if anyone is wondering.
But again, I'm not a Christian. I'm an Apatheist, so it doesn't bother me either way.

many religions say its a sin ..wrong ...etc
but honestly i am pretty sure you won't find a singöe person on this planet that has never masturbated at all - even the pope or this guy that founded islam had to have been young at some point before that.

I'm Christian, and there isn't no verse in the bible that says, do not masturbate.
NOT. EVEN. ONE.

Apatheist? Never heard of that term before, but based on a-(not or anti) -patho- (having to deal with emotions) and -eist (a person of a certain religious category) it means not caring about religion, correct?
Anyway, I don't really think masturbation directly goes against religion. If you were given two hands that are long enough to reach your happy parts and well developed enough to grip them, then it must be for a reason.
Also, I think fantasizing and viewing porn is more taboo in the religious community, for they contain "impure" themes such as adultery, rape, etc. Ands since masturbation is often coupled with the aforementioned activities they condemn the whole kit and kaboodle.

Masturbation harms nobody.
Therefore masturbation is not unethical.

Essentially. From wikipedia "an apatheist is someone who considers the question of the existence of gods as neither meaningful nor relevant to their life."
Is there a god? I have no idea. Maybe, maybe not. I don't really care either way.

So, it's not a stance on whether or not God exists, but a stance on stances on whether or not God exists. Weeeiiiirrrrddddd.

The Bible doesn't say it's wrong to masturbate, not once. But people say it's sinful because it incites lust.

Yup! And it's entirely personal. I believe the question of whether there is or is not a god is irrelevant to my life. I don't try to "convert" anyone or suggest that apatheism is the only acceptable belief.

Just wondering, if you dont masturbate, how do you relieve sexual tension? I really dont think I could stand all that coild up preasure and tension, and how do you solve the somewhat painfull problem of blueballs?

If I recollect properly, my religious friend (then 13-14ish) told me once that masturbation was banned by the catholic church in some time period where natality rates were low in Europe.
If I'm wrong, please correct me :)

While yes, masturbation is one of the "deadly sins", no one ever really can go through life without touching themselves at one point or another. It's about self discovery. Your likes and dislikes sexually. Without knowing that, how can someone be sexually intimate with another person, if they don't know what they like.

But then again, according to religion, animals have no soul.
I do what I want and God can sort it out how he wants later on.
Easy sorting: straight to hell.
Masturbation harms nobody.
Well, only yourself, if you do it too hard, hehe.
My religion encourages it,

I do the same, I am a Christian and I'm still not sure if it's a sin or not but I feel guilty after it and it just seems gross to me so I don't do it but whenever. Get the urge I ignore it and pretty much wait for a wet dream.

But as I said, im a Christian and It doesn't mention anything about masturbation so I don't think its wrong, I think its a way to for guys ( or girls ) to relive themeselves of the urge instead of going out and losing their virginity ( I mean, its not a big deal either you do have sex or not to me ) but oh well ... yeah Know ?

Because I am not Catholic or belong to any religion that says masturbation is sinful, I don't think I fully understand that side of the issue. I think that because it really isn't causing any harm to those that do it, instead actually giving pleasure to them, I fail to see what's so wrong.

I personally dislike masturbation almost all the time, but not for religious reasons.
I feel there are ways masturbation CAN be bad, if it's abused. (Injury/sexual retardation, addiction, etc.) However, it's totally natural, and I don't really have anything against it.
