Particularly when I'm barefoot and/or on a staircase, I tend to walk around on my toes a lot. Could this to any damage to my feet or legs?
It seems like most of the things I find are about younger children walking like this—I'm 15. Yes, I am physically capable of walking on my whole foot, I just find myself walking on my toes a lot. I don't know if I have any mental illnesses.

I used to do that ALL the time, even if people told me to still I would refuse, and them once day I did stop, I just stopped one day and haven't done it since. I did it for about 5 years

That isn't a problem. I don't see any harm in it.

No, I walk on my toes all the time, especially up and down stairs. Then again, I used to be a dance student so it's also a weird habit to stretch my feet.

It shouldn't be a danger for your feet, it's actually better to step with your toes rather than with your ankles.

Ah, okay, if it doesn't pose major health risks, I don't really feel like it's that important to kick the habit.

Yeah if don't think this is really a problem. I don't walk on my toes personally, but it seems like many people do, so I don't think you should worry about this :)

This actually can be problematic to your tendon and the sole of your foot. I tiptoed a lot when I was younger (and still do) and had a weird clear wound on my foot when I was 8ish.

This does cause damage. My cousin did this her entire life (she'll be 18 soon) and now has to do physical therapy and exercises daily to try to repair the damage. I don't know the specifics, as we're not close, only that it's definitely had repercussions.

I don't think you have any mental problems. I tend to do the same thing sometimes. Just be careful, I know it tones your calves and ankles more; try wearing high-heeled shoes because doing that would keep you walking on your toes more without it causing any or a lot of damage to your legs or feet.

Are you flat footed? If so, and you've been doing it since childhood, I would check with a doctor to make sure It's not degrading your foot health. I've had to have surgery (When i was like 11) Because I always used to walk on my toes. It can shorten your achiles heel and break down your arch, which will make walking harder in later years.

Maybe I need to break this habit, though. I don't do it constantly, but I'm sure it could still do damage.

When I was younger I would walk on the tops of my feet and it wasn't intentional. It runs in the family. However I taught myself to stop doing it, and every once and a while because it's my natural walk I would walk on the front tips of my feet however I quickly correct myself to put my foot flat on the ground. I myself never got hurt or anything. But that doesn't mean that you cant hurt your feet by walking incorrectly like that.

I don't think there's too much harm in doing it occasionally, but I'd try to break the habit if I was you.

Maybe there is a reason - perhaps you just feel more comfortable - anyways you can ask or get checked.

I walk like that all the time, the reason I do it is because ever since I was 6 I was the tallest in my class and I like to feel even taller
