I've been working to get netflix to work on my Kubuntu partition all morning and I can't figure it out. I've installed the netflix desktop app, Pipelight is installed and enabled, I have a user agent switcher, ms core fonts is installed, but whenever I go to the netflix website and try to watch a video it just tells me I need to install silverlight. Now, I know the user agent switcher is working because if it wasn't netflix would've redirected me to a system requirements page instead of the silverlight page thing. So Netflix thinks I'm using Windows. But for some reason Pipelight either isn't working or isn't fooling netflix into thinking it's silverlight.
I know this is a long shot, but can anyone here help me out? I'm using Kubuntu 14.04. and the newest Firefox.

I have a mac, and I was using Safari, and Netflix told me to install silverlight too. I thought it was kind of crazy, tried a few different things, and then finally gave in and downloaded it. It actually worked and Netflix works now.

Ugh I know it sucks.
Does anyone know if there's any sort of Android emulator I could use to watch netflix? Is that at all feasible?
I do have netflix on my phone, and my windows 7 partition, and my ps4 and xbox 360, but not being able to use it in Kubuntu is just so damn annoying.

There's the Bluestacks emulator for windows, but I'm unsure of its availability for linux. However, there already is an image for android on normal computers, which then you could use a virtual machine to run inside your linux.

It is now possible to use Netflix natively on Linux using Google Chrome.
Google it.
