Adding a status feature to the chat?

I'm on the chat very often and I was wondering if we can add a "mini status" or a little description under our usernames so people can know what we're doing if we're not speaking. I know we have the "online, not available, away" but I feel like people would still ask us if we're there even if we've used those positions. I've heard the chat was made quite some time ago. I am aware that sometimes changes can't be made, and that's absolutely fine! :)

Interesting idea, this has happened to me the few times I've been on the chat. It's useful because it can give you an idea of how long it'll take for someone to come back.

Then again if you're going to be too busy to use the chat it would be better to log off, or just announce why you won't be available anyway.

That isn't a feature of this chat. The away symbol is a status, we could consider changing the symbol for it, but otherwise we can't add a line of text like you suggested. If it were possible I wouldn't have a problem with it.

To implement a feature like this we would have to overhaul the chat room completely.
