Okay, I am an adolescent, so obviously I'm going to go through mood swings brought on by hormones and shiz like that. I mean every teen does, right? So my concern is, I've always felt like the drastic mood swings that I have are NOT normal. Like, I have five a day for no apparent reason. Usually nothing triggers them, they just happen. And they're very, very, opposite from each other. My euphoric mood is hyperactive, fidgety, talkative, giggly, on top of the world, I feel like I will never be sad or harm myself again. And I change subjects a lot, talk really fast, etc. Then in my depressed mood I'm hopeless, and feel like I won't ever be happy again. My energy is almost completely drained, I often just want to sit somewhere and cry, or not do anything at all. I get EXTREME social anxiety. I think everybody hates me and is talking behind my back and crap like that. Also, these days I've been kind of suicidal.

Sometimes it's kind of a mix of the two. For example I won't be able to stop moving about and shaking, and I'll be super-alert of everything but I'll want to kill myself and I am irritable and hate everyone.

Sooo.... Does this sound like Bipolar disorder? Sorry it was long, and I have to stop now because I'm at school, haha.

Well I'm not an expert or even educated in this subject, but it sounds to me like it could very well be bipolar, but, don't you dare take my word for it. I've never had those intense mood swings happen to me, I mean...I suppose it could be normal, but I'm unsure. Wait out see if it goes away, if not, then try getting help.

I've been waiting for it to go away since 6th grade and now I'm almost in highschool. It's really worrying me.

Then maybe you should get help then, doesn't sound normal to me.

Well I have had intense mood swings like that, although I never got diagnosed for bipolar disorder.
You just described a text book case of bipolar so I would definitely get it check out. When this happened to me I learned to control it myself with stuff like once the mood swing would start to happen I would remind myself that I always go back up again and I guess eventually it just went away. Now you may have a more severe case than I did maybe a case that requires medicine so get checked out by your doctor.
Good Luck!

ive had to deal with doctors and physycitrist and counslers argue over whether i was ADHD or bipolar because i had the ups and downs like you described but after like 5 years of that theyve come to the conclusion that im just a teenager and thats what we do its all part of growing up and being confused and having moodswings, i mean granted i dont know your age but id assume its probobly not bipolar because bi-polar mania is extreems ups and downs and can often be confused with hormones, and just the way your brain works.

if your worried you should probobly talk to your parents and see if theyre willing to take you to a phsyc to see if they can perscribe somthing or diagnose you with bi-polar or a.d.d or somthing like that.

Does it happen instantly for no reason, or does something come into your mind that triggers it?

Alot of times you'll remember something that you had forgotten about, and it will changed your whole mood.

The happens to me sometimes, and it's just about as severe as yours sounds.

Did you/do you get panic attacks in public places?
