I want to get a hemlet camera, the reason being if I get knocked off my bike I want evidence, multiple times I have been nearly run of thr road because people drive like morons, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a decent helmet camera, I've seen a lot of film from things loike the gopro, from motovloggers, and from PlaneAndSimple, but they stick out and look funny, so does anyone know of any that are more....urm....steamlined?

Look:

Compared to a lot of hemet cameras the go pro sticks out and looks a bit odd. Then again so does having a camera in general.

Oh It isn't bothersome. I've ridden with it on a helmet at 80MPH and it doesnt make much of a difference.

Why do you say the footage looks funny though?

Ahh no, the fottage looks great, nice and crisp, good sound so on and so fourth, I mean it looks odd having it sticking out at the side of your helmet, it looks like it would easly break off, the mount for the gopro always looked delicate, is it?

Nope it's not. I've had it mounted on the side of my bike and a wind gust came and made it fall off (wasnt on it at the time) and the bike came to a rest on top of the camera, which took quite a big hit (30+kg equivalent force) and there was no damage to the case of the sticky mount itself. Trust me they don't fall off at all. You have to hit it VERY hard for it to fall off. Under normal driving conditions you're more than good to go and unless you crash at 100+MPH (or even more), which I hope doesnt happen, it won't come off the helmet

Oh and you can always mount it somewhere else on the helmet

Ive seen people mount then in the front, but after looking at the prices I just cant justify spending that much cash, I think I'm gonna with this instad.

Its the TCL SVC200 Action Camera, or I might go with the Sony acytion cam instead.

The GoPro just seems a little overpriced for what it is.

Might be. It's your call in the end. If you buy a gopro, you're mostly paying for the robustness, so don't expect those to survive falling to the ground at all.
