I feel very comfortable with her. She seems very understanding.

I have been significantly struggling with depression. I've just been so depressed lately. No motivation to do anything to do school work. Nothing. I'm always irritable. I feel useless & worthless.

But, I've also thought of telling my guidance counselor. I'm getting a schedule change.& I thought I could tell her. But, I don't have the same comfort level with her.

Who should I tell? How should I tell them?

Also, what would they do I I told them?

I was the exact same freshmen and sophomore year. I was too afraid to confront my teachers about my depression and I procrasinated until the end of the year when I failed all my tests, missed class, and I didn't really understand the lessons taught throughout those years.

1. Do not be afraid to tell your teacher about your problems, they will be there with you until the school year ends and you don't want to wait before your depression prolong. Teachers have to know what is up with you so they can help you pass the class...ask for tutoring if you're behind, ask them for the homework/schoolwork you've missed.

Now, you might think it's hard but just don't overthink it. Breathe, and talk to your guidance counselor/teacher when available, tell them you have been dealing with depression and you need help. Tell them everything, and by everything, I mean the things that have been holding you back from your studies. Do you have therapist? See if your counselor can set you up with one, it's really important to stay positive while you're in school and at home.

I wish you the best, and please, if anything, my pm thing is open!!!

Another thing, you should most definitely talk to your parents. They need to know what mental state you are in right now, and they will see if they can find a way to treat it. Don't be afraid to open up to those who care, it's better than keeping it to yourself.

I just don't feel comfortable telling my parents yet. I want someone else to tell them

No one can explain it better than the person who has it, and it's you. It's a challenge but I know you can do this!!!

I has to tell mt tutor and this is what I did, made it so much more simple.

I worte what I wanted to say in a note, gave it to them and asked them to read it in five mins, and then left, leave in the note where they can find you because obviously they will need to. That way you don't even have to say anything.
Hope that helps.

I think you should tell your teacher first - then see how that goes I think it would be okay to say you do not feel comfortable telling others but need help or advice - one to one advice is always good from someone you know and trust.

Hope you get some help

Teachers are very good listeners, I'd try & open up to her first, just so you know how it'd feel.
