help with guy (gay)

Hey guys, so recently i started talking to this guy in my marching band, hes gay and i kinda like him but ive never been in a relationship so this whole thing makes me really anxious :$
Can anyone give me some advice on how to talk to him/what to say or anything like that

Just say hello and get to know him. You could toss around a few light compliments in there too, but don't rush it or it could make things awkward.
