There is obviously a link because the urethra from the prostate gland out to the tip of your penis is used for both pee and semen and the prostate gland has to work as kind of two way valve so determine with path is open and which is shut off. That's why you can't pee when close to cumming.

I can see that it may work the other way too if you bursting to pee - that the switch to open the semen path and close the urine path can't be made. Either way I can't see any reason to worry and the solution is straightforward - go pee and then go back to masturbating.
