I've had this zit or blemish for at least a year. It's on my jawline. My mom tells me it's an ingrown hair, but I don't think they last that long. And if I try to pop it like a zit, stuff comes out, but I don't do it often at all because I know blood will follow. But it will still be there. I've been trying to go to the doctor for it, but my mom keeps forgetting to make the appointment. I don't do it myself because the office doesn't allow the kids to. What do you think it is? Every day, I try to treat/cure it with whatever skin product I have and it doesn't go away.

I'd say it isn't that big of a deal. I don't know why it would stay for that long. If you're really that worried about it, then go to the doctor.

Make sure you arn't using any type of toner as that can make the blemish worse.

old school approach, when it heals apply toothpaste, you might want to look online for the certain active ingredients needed because some companies dont use the necessary thing to dry out the zit anymore, i think my crest pro health would do the trick

hmm. What I would do is just wait. Wait maybe a few more weeks, it could go away.

Ingrown hairs can last a long time because the hair will simply keep growing under the skin. They're a pain, I can tell you. I'd see a doctor if it doesn't clear up on its own just to get a professional opinion. If it hasn't gone away in almost a year, it's probably not going to clear up unless you do something about it.

But yeah, looks like an ingrown hair to me. Sucks.

I just squeeze the fuck out of them and then put peroxide on it. I don't get scarring, but that may or may not apply to you.

Sounds like an ingrown hair. Last one I had was in my pubes, when the fucker finally came out it was about an inch long, and considering I shave, looked weird as hell.
