View Full Version : Best cheap laptop to buy?

I've been thinking about buying a fairly cheap laptop (I'm willing to spend around $300-500). I'm planning on using it for typical things, like browsing the internet, YouTube, saving things, listening to music, etc etc. I also want to do some music production with it. Can anybody recommend something that would work? Thanks.
Edit: After some looking around, I decided to go with Asus.

WalMart if you have them. My dad wanted to get a new laptop for $300 and scored one there about a year ago. It's the one I'm using right now...an HP 2000. Has worked great.

I reccomend the Lenovo T410, I'm using it now, got it from Amazon, decent enough specs for what you want, and very rugged, I dropped mine down the stairs and it came out without a scratch, that's the reason I reccomend them, they are built strong, like, seriously strong, and I got mine for £200 ($331)

Alright, I'm going to be that guy.
For the price you are willing to spend on a laptop, you can build a desktop that runs much better and will last longer.
However, if you really need a laptop, I would definitely recommend Asus if you can get it.

Which is why I went on to say if he really needed a laptop, then go with Asus

My laptop, on the more expensive side, is probably around 400-500 dollars. It is a Windows 8.1 with a touch screen. The model is the Acer Aspire V5. Good processor, nice RAM, and like 750gb of storage I think, its good and thin. It can do almost everything you want, and can run some games like minecraft or skyrim on low settings. Definetly suggested for a more expensive and last longer model

You're not going to get very good music production on a cheaper laptop. The hardware in it just isn't good enough because with computers, you get what you pay for.
I'm not familiar with PCs because I don't use Windows-based computers but Asus is good from what I've been told. My friend has a pretty good HP laptop that's probably just a couple hundred more than yours which I've used and like it for the most part.
