p.s. is it great to be part of the v.t. staff group. i really want to be in it simply because i know i cant be.

Global moderators moderate all sections, while moderators just moderator one section.

You can read more of this here : VirtualTeen.org Site Rules (http://www.virtualteen.org/forums/faq.php?faq=rules#faq_staff)

The link will automatically go to the relevant section.

A global mod can moderate all sections of the site, including all general forums, vt hq forums as well as members diaries. They also have the ability to ban members where required and form a 'middle management' sort of role between regular forum mods and the administration, sparing the administration of dealing with less important issues that others could solve. Global's also have a much larger say in major projects (eg the recent gender option changes to the site) and can often assist administrators to perform their role to some degree as well.

A global moderator can moderate all forums on the board, no ifs, ands, or buts. Also, as Gumleaf said, they can do other moderator things that regular mods cant, and they have a much larger say in large projects. Basically a global mod is a mod with a lot more responsibilities.
Or, to put it even simpler, a global moderator is an admin with no administration access, at least, that's how I was tought. working a lot with forum hierarchy has tought me a lot about what mods can do, global mods, admins, etc. It does very from forum to forum, but I know a lot about the hierarchy for VT, and what staff can and cant do. I don't even know how I learned, but anyways, yeah. That's what gmods can do verses mods, and admins verses gmods, etc.

We can also edit some fields on user profiles, such as signatures :P We are a part of the "senior staff".

And perhaps I'm biased, but it is pretty great being on staff. You could always apply for a moderator position whenever we have applications again.

I guess you could put it that way, phuckphace.
I could apply, but I don't think I will. I'm not active enough in either section, and I don't have enough posts, so... Besides, I'm staff somewhere else, and I'd rather not split jobs at the moment.
