Is it ok to invite someone else to homecoming if first says no?

I'm just wondering... i haven't found anything helpful on the internet. there's two(three?) people i'm into and want to ask one to the dance, but i was wondering if it was acceptable to ask another if the one says no.

It's not that, i just don't want to come off as desperate rather than just looking for someone
