I am currently a junior in high school, and I am trying to plan out my path for the rest of high school. Since freshmen year, all my academic classes have been honors classes, and I have always taken 1 AP class since sophomore year. For my senior year, I just want to take 1 honors class and 1 AP class, and the rest have to be regular classes to fulfill my required classes to graduate. I could fit in at least one more AP class, but the only other one is AP English Literature, which I really don't want to do. If I drop from 4 Honors/AP classes to 1 honors and 1 AP my senior year, will colleges rethink their decision if they initially accept me? If I continue to get A's and B's, will it still be a problem? Will colleges think I'm slacking off my senior year and not challenging myself enough?

All I can say is that Honors and especially AP classes look good to colleges, at least better than regular classes. I suggest that in you junior and senior year, you try to get n as many AP and honors classes that you can handle, without frying your brain. However, in addition to just academics, it would benefit you to take up some extracurricular activities and do some volunteering, for colleges like well rounded students as well.

I also am in Spanish club, culinary arts club, foreign travel group, and national honors society. I'm not worried about clubs or participation, just if colleges view me as "lazy" senior year. I really want to enjoy my senior year, but also do not want my lack in honors/ap classes to influence the colleges' final decisions about me.
