The Admin's control the entire site and all aspects to it, the global mods control all the forums and can freeze users but the mods only control certain forums they are assigned too there might be more but I'm not sure.

A mod only moderatoes selected forums, global mods moderate all of the forums. And admins run the forums.

All staff members have the ability to lock threads and move threads. However a Mod can only do that in the forums they mod GMods and Admins can do it in all forums. Moderators can Freeze members if needs be, however the majority of Freezing's and all Bannings are done by GMods and Admins.
You becom a mod by showing maturity and offering good advice on the forums. Then we occasionly ask for people to apply for a position and that is done in the Volunteer Opening's section or alternativly we privatly seek people to become mods.

All staff members are volunteers who receive no financial compensation for their help towards running this site. They can be distinguished from normal members by title and rank image. Staff members do not have any numbers in their rank images (excluding "New" and "Banned").
Administrators and global moderators are staff members who can moderate any forum on VirtualTeen. Administrators maintain all aspects and functions of the site.
Counselors are available to offer comfort, support, and advice. Please feel free to talk one of our counselors at any time (through private messages, email, etc.). While talking privately, counselors will listen to your every word, and everything remains completely confidential (private). Counselors have been chosen based on their demonstrations of knowledge, attitude, and experience in social environments. Remember that counselors on VirtualTeen are not professionals and do not hold degrees in psychology or any related field. If you need professional advice, you should consult a qualified professional, health care provider, or doctor.
Moderators can only moderate certain forums. If you have an issue in which a normal moderator is unable to help, try contacting a global moderator or administrator.
While the staff of this website manage posts and events among the forums, each person is still a member - meaning any staff member can post their own opinion, leave positive or negative reputation, and any other privileges registered members have been given. However, all will always maintain a position of authority. <<<< Taken from the FAQ section under "The Staff"
And to become one you must show maturity give good advice and show that you are capable to do it.
