I’ve been sick since Friday. When I first got to school, I felt fine. But immediately after the first class I felt absolutely miserable. I could not stop coughing for the rest of the day and it was totally tearing up my muscles. On Saturday I had a fever of 101.8 which was unusually high, but the fever went down the next day.

It’s now Tuesday evening and although the coughing has subsided significantly, I’m nauseatingly lightheaded and starving. I haven’t been able to eat much since my lightheadedness makes it practically impossible to prepare any sort of food. I’ve been surviving on approximately a can of soup and a sandwich everyday since Friday. I feel like I’m starving, but I can’t seem to eat any more. I had half a bowl of soup before I felt like I couldn’t eat any more.

I know snacking would help this condition (little bits here and there), but my dad would just totally flip out about that if he saw that and complain about how “unhealthy” I am. I’m curious as to what on earth I could possibly be suffering from that causes this killer lightheadedness and for me to be starving to death.

You feel like you're starving probably because you're not able to eat. Try to at least drink plenty of juice, fluids are good when you're sick, and juice has more calories than water so at least you'll be getting something in you. Try to rest up, and eat when you can. basically what you're already doing. If it's not better in a few more days, see a doctor, but it sounds like you're getting to the end of this bug.

Dunno what it could be exactly, other than some sort of general cold. I had one similar to it back in like, January. Coughed so much, it was terrible, I had a slight fever, and then after the cough was done I just felt like crap. That took a good two weeks to be totally out of my system, but hopefully yours won't last as long.

Like I said, rest and fluids, food when you can, see a doctor in a few days if nothing improves. :)

First off, water! Keep yourself hydrated and drink other things around that. But nothing too heavy. Light snacks around every hour to 2 hours. If you don't eat you will feel worse. And if it doesn'go see a doctor then.
