try going to the toilet before you do it, and make sure to get it as clean as possible 'up there' when you shower, as you start doing it more it gets cleaner, well that what happened with me, have fun :)

I'd say, go to the bathroom first, if you can, and maybe invest in some rubber gloves - that way your fingers won't get dirty or end up smelling bad.
