Right, did you originally have xp on your computer, I mean did you upgrade to vista. Cause if you did you may be suffering from vista not accepting your usb hubs/ports properly

Download a program called CPU-Z, this will tell you your make and model of motherboard (unless you know already), and you should be able to download drivers for bios and the chipset.

Although I dislike Vista probably as much, if not more than some of the others here, It's really not a solution to just say "Don't use Vista, use XP" as many people that have Vista have it because it came preinstalled on their computer, and may not have a copy of XP.
Just for everyone's information, MS does offer a Legal (And Free) downgrade from Vista to XP, even if you don't personally have a License key for your Vista Machine. It only applies to OEM Vista Business and Ultimate Versions, though. The others don't qualify.

However, that isn't a choice for everyone.
This thread is a month old. Is the problem still an issue? Have you updated to SP1, and did it fix the issue?

I installed diffrent drivers, and the guy who fixes computers at my dads office said it was an issue with internal connection (loose wire or something) but it is all good now.
