Hi Guys! I'm new to this website, and need a bit of advice, so i have been self harming since 2012, and want to get better! But i can't seem to quit do it on my own, and always tend to push people away if they try and help, some of my friends know, but none of my family knows. How would you tell your parents you've been self harming for about 2 years? And that you are depressed and need help? I'm afraid my parents won't react that well, so do you have any advice for if you're parents don't react to well? Also, have any of you gone to therapy? Has it helped any? I'm afraid of having to go to therapy, or something similar, please don't judge me! haha, thanks, sorry this is really long.

I NEED therapy, and i do not self harm i just slowly perish away from the inside out. I have lost so much this year a bullet could solve my problems, but im staying resiliant someone loves me. Im here if ya ever wanna talk. And welcome to vt. :)

You don't have to tell your parents. You can tell somebody you're closer to.
