It would be hard to urinate only if you're bending your penis a certain way while you still have an erection. That case being, you're pushing down a certain way and your urethra can't let urine go through. It all depends on the angle of your erection, an upward angle might make it easier for the urine to flow... which of course means you have to position your body forward if you want to hit the toilet. The harder way is waiting until your erection subsides but who knows how long it'll last.

I do this sometimes, but most the time I do a fairly hard maths calculation which take me a minute, then when I solve it I am semi so I can piss while standing

I usually just jack off before getting up so it goes soft, or I go in the shower. You can pee with an erection, but it is difficult to aim unless you're holding it and close to the bowl. What would be really awesome is having a urinal at home. This one camp I went to we stayed in dorms at a college, and it was great being able to stand there still rock hard but able to aim into the urinal with no problem.
